~Burnt, roasty, coffee aroma. Too roasty. ~Pours black brown with red tints, disappearing brown head. ~Roasty burnt malt flavor, bitter coffee. ~Med body, med CO2, burnt lasting finish. ~Too many roasted malts. Not very enjoyable. Not balanced.

Tap @ their Honolulu Pub... Poured near black with a khaki head. Nose had faint malt and some roastiness. Fairly dry and was easy drinking. Slight hop floralness and leafiness for balance with more roast and hints of cocoa.

On tap @ Kona pub, Oahu. Dark brown with a creamy tan head. Aroma of chocolate, coffee and some roasted malt. Flavor is lots of chocolate with a roasty bitterness. Medium to full body with mild carbonation and a smooth, mouth feel. Great porter, lots of chocolate flavor with a touch of roast for balance which makes for a drinkable beer.

On draft at Kona location on Oahu. Glossy black pour with a dark tan head. The aromas are mostly the roasty malts, and a touch of chocolate character. The bitter roasted flavors are the primary driver for me and make for a nice experience. It was a hot sunny day and this did the trick.

Sharp and vibrant roasty malts dominate the aroma and flavor. This one isn’t smooth, it is more about aggressive flavor. Dark color with a thin tan head.

Pours translucent black with tan head. Aroma is coffee and chocolate. Taste is strong chocolate and malts. It is alittle light and too watery, but overall a nice porter.

Draft at Marina Pub. Delicious! Pours a shinny black with a nice fizzy light tan head. Aroma is dry, ashy, round, similar to Deschutes, rich smokey nutty enticing, piney hoppy, super hoppy, excellent woody-like notes. Flavor follows, delicious, dry, lightly round, ashy, piney, hoppy, nutty, bit of citrus, similar to Deschutes, bit of dry wood, black coffee towards the finish, nice bitterness in the finish, lingering ash, light sweetness, spruce. Dry but perfect sweetness in the body, soft carbonation, works so well. Love it!
