Black Sand Porter is a robust, full bodied porter with pronounced bittersweet chocolate flavor and aroma from the diverse variety of malt used to brew this beer. The hops balance the the maltiness of this robust and roasty ale.

[At GABF 2004] A pitch black beer with a lasting beutiful brown head. The aroma is very lighlty roasted - Iím a bit disappointed in the lightness of the aroma. The flavor is sweet with hints of coffee, and a nice roasted end. The mouthfeel is very smooth.

Draught at Kona Brewing Company - KoKo Marina Pub, 6.3% ABV
Dark brown color, with red shades, and creamy beige head. It had some aroma of roasted malts, coffee, dust. Dry mouthfeel, with strong flavor of roasted malt and some coffee, no chocolate; the bitterness seems to come from the roastiness.
More Stout than Porter, fairly brewed anyway.

Near black colour. Fresh black malt nose is decadent, with rich fruits. The palate is again rich in black malts with some fruitiness. Quality brew.

A deep dark porter with a thin mocha head. In aroma, smooth fruity chocolate malt with light coconut and coffee grind. In mouth, a nice smooth bitter chocolate with good coffee notes, light and smooth. On tap at Koko location.

"very roasted, almost like a dry stout. unfortunately we had this as a taster right before Pipeline (w/Kona coffee)...that one is so much richer that this one seemed boring in comparison. solid effort, though, if it were to stand on itís own."
