estoppel (1019), Buffalo, New York, USA Apr 24, 2008 Draft at the brewpub. Dark brown/black body, modest aroma, but roasty, small head. Roasty flavors, typical, moderate hop bitterness, not astringent like the Pipeline Porter.
elihapa (305), Connecticut, USA Aug 13, 2008 On tap, Koko Marina Brewpub. Pours a charcoal-brown with a tan head. Smells of ash, coffee, and dark chocolate. Flavor is ashy, dry, baker’s chocolate, and some coffee. Pretty nice blend. Not as creamy or complex as I would like, but certainly a nice brew. Finishes dry and slightly bitter. Surprisingly easy to drink given the darkness of this porter. Maybe its is flavorful hops? bobaidan (307), Farmington, Connecticut, USA Jul 9, 2008 Pours nearly black with a medium sized brown head. Aroma is primarily roasted malt and chocolate. Moutfeel is full with some good carbonation. Flavor has more of a hop presence than the aroma, but otherwise is pretty similar. A good porter, but I perfer the Pipelline. Ale_Drinker (1072), Sunnyvale, California, USA Jun 19, 2008 Decent porter here. Aroma is mostly roasted with some dark chocolate. Flavor had some acidity to it but not too harsh. Body was smooth and round. Oakes (6973), Miami Beach, Florida, USA May 27, 2008 Near black colour. Fresh black malt nose is decadent, with rich fruits. The palate is again rich in black malts with some fruitiness. Quality brew. SQNfan (474), Wheaton, Illinois, USA May 7, 2008 Draft at the brewpub in Honolulu. Dark brown in color with a thin head that faded quickly. This was a very balanced porter with some chcolate, coffee, nuts and malt. This continued into a balanced midpalate that was creamy and finished smooth. I preferred this to the Pipeline Porter due to the balance.
