The bourbon dominates the aroma althought there is a hint of vanilla and alcohol. It pours a dark with a decent amount of white head. It is very sweet, some mild bitterness and a sharp alcoholic bite. Not quite my cup of tea but a decent beer.

Tap at the brewpub. They wouldn’t serve this in flights, so after quite a few beers I ended up getting stuck drinking a 14oz pour of 12% BBA barleywine. Yikes! Nice dark brown pour. Overwhelming bourbon, vanilla aroma, sweet and biscuity. Punchy, powerful malt sweetness, yet in a way surprisingly restrained. As expected for the style. A decent effort at a hard style.
