COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A full-bodied, American-Style I.P.A. that is bronze in color, Castaway IPA is "dry hopped" (aged with liberal amounts of whole hop flowers after fermentation) for assertive hop flavor and aroma. The bitterness is balanced by the malty body of the beer.

At the brewery pub. Pours a darker amber. Smells of smokey fruit and pine. Taste is pine, mango, smokey fruit. Some caramel sweetness for balance. An average IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottled shared with McTapps. This one offered not that what I expetced. Well, it had its dry and hoppy moments but it was also a bit dull and skunky. Some nuts and rye also in the company. Not bad at all.

Bottle from Rudat in Dortmund. Pours out in a light hazy golden-light amber colour with low, steady head and medium body. Aroma of fresh hops and herbs. Taste of fesh hops, herbs, spruce, mild spices, citrus fruits. Little bit dusty finish with malty hints. Expected more,

Draught @ Flying Saucer, Addison. Clear golden, rounded. Mild for an IPA, bit malty even. Nice starter. Herby nose.

Bottle@ahven. Coppery, light haze. Hoppy nose, with some light caramels. Earthy pines, tropicality, green berries. Med light bodied, bit dryharsh, bready, malts. Bitter. Nice long hoppy finish. Quite nice, could be softer.

The aroma is mostly earthy noble hops with sublte hints of spice and citrus. The flavor is similar and adds a slight toasty sweet character from the malt. I’d say it’s more medium bodied than full, finishes crisp and bitter

This isn’t a world beater but it is a tasty and aromatic IPA. It pours cloudy orange golden and has only a small head of mixed bubbles. Aroma is big and hoppy, lots of pine w/ a bit of a savory herbal character. This is pretty dry and any sweetness is balanced by a lingering, resinous bitterness in the finish. It is a medium bodied beer and somewhat vigorous carbonation helps keep it pretty drinkable. I would not exactly call this a standout IPA but definitely I could drink a six pack of it w/o it getting sticky and gross or me getting sick of it so that is good enough for me.
