COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A full-bodied, American-Style I.P.A. that is bronze in color, Castaway IPA is "dry hopped" (aged with liberal amounts of whole hop flowers after fermentation) for assertive hop flavor and aroma. The bitterness is balanced by the malty body of the beer.

On tap at Lulus in lahaina. Aroma is hoppy, some citrus, some dank. Almost like warrior or magnum hops. Pours clear orange color with nice head and good lacing. Flavor is bitter for your usual ipa. Really good ipa. Palate is medium body with a long bitter finish.

If your looking for a solid IPA, than your SOL. This was flat both in palate, taste, and hop. There are subtle floral undertones, but all in all not great.

Draft. Amber/gold body. Frothy white head, rapidly diminishing. Aroma of caramel, fresh toasted grain, grapefruit, resin, pine. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Taste of grapefruit rind with hints of pine and light resin. Clean malts. Nicely done.

Beautiful amber color, with small creamy head. It has some aroma of good hops, a bit mild though. The flavor has some malt and caramel, just a touch of toffee; the mouthfeel, as usual, is on the dry side; strong bitterness, with some hop resins, but the hop is not shining; the final is bold and quite long.
The best beer available tonight, but nothing exciting, it’s almost a British IPA.
Dry hopped but a bit wasted.

Clear amber color with ivory head. Tropical fruit, pale malt, marshmallow aromas. Medium body. caramel, tropical fruit, bitter grapefruit flavors, drying finish--not bad.

Growler brought back by a friend from the brewery. Pours a nice clear copper from the bottle, with quickly dissipating off-white head and moderate lacing. Aroma of hops, piney resin and citrus. Taste has a nice hop characteristic, but not too overpowering, leaving a solid bitter aftertaste. Pretty good IPA, and along with the Koko Brown, probably the best from Kona. My only disappointment comes from possible bad transport; it definitely wasn’t shipped cold and possibly lost some carbonation along the way, leading to the mediocre head.

Was decent but not a huge fan of IPA unless it’s good. Nothing special really. It’s got a bit of hop standard for an IPA, it does have a bit of bitter aftertaste.

Gold color, great lacing. hardly any head though. Creamy mouth, hoppy bitter finish. Aroma is incredibly weak for this though. Not bad but still missing something for me.

Pours orange amber with a large white head. Aroma is grapefruit and a hint of licorice. Flavor is bitter and balanced with a spicy grapefruit finish
