COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A full-bodied, American-Style I.P.A. that is bronze in color, Castaway IPA is "dry hopped" (aged with liberal amounts of whole hop flowers after fermentation) for assertive hop flavor and aroma. The bitterness is balanced by the malty body of the beer.

Bottle-pretty good and way better than I expected. Amber color with a decent, beige head. Looks good in the glass. Lots of malt in the taste with some sweet caramel, hops lie way back in the distance. Mild citrus finish, almost could be a British beer, no more jokes on my part. Total Wine.

Tap at Old Chicago. Pours a clear light orange color with a tall foamy white head. Aroma is fat hops, resiny, sharp sappy notes and pollen. Light mouthfeel. Flavor is dry hops, lightly sweet, bitter hops through the finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured from bottle into snifter, pleasant first hit but a bit bitter in the finish...could be better balanced. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz bottle at Gateway Grill in Monroeville PA. Translucent copper brown with very little head. Intense pine and marigold in the nose. The flavour actually starts with a little malt, then you get the marigolds again. The flavour is only a slight shift from pine/mango, but it’s definitely marigolds. Weird. Different.

On draft at Otts. Nice notes of floral hop and a big grapefruit finish. Some caramel malts balance out the middle with a splash of citrus. Nice refreshing brew.

Cloudy watery straw-gold with thin white head. Smells sweet (though not in a fruity or syrupy way), bit of corn, some hop. Taste is like a slightly slicker and slightly more hoppy run-of-the-mill pale ale with a very dry and very bitter finish. Not interesting enough for an IPA.

Bottle from Brewcraft at home. Hazy straw yellow pour. Aroma is slightly sweet with a bit of hops. Taste is hoppy bitterness, very dry bitter finish. Not bad but nothing really going on. Could be a beach-y bland IPA

Tap at Old Chicago. Pretty bland I thought. SOme floral hops, slightly bitter, malty balance detracts from the hops.
