A full-bodied, American-Style I.P.A. that is bronze in color, Castaway IPA is "dry hopped" (aged with liberal amounts of whole hop flowers after fermentation) for assertive hop flavor and aroma. The bitterness is balanced by the malty body of the beer.

Poured from the bottle, this has a bright yellow body containing a plethora of mini-bubbles and is capped by a creamy white head. The aroma is a big whiff of lemon zest and grapefruit. (Nice.) The malt comes out in the flavor as a light grainy sweetness that’s soon put down by the citrus hop tastes and a sharp zest bitterness. It finishes dry with a lingering bitterness. Good stuff.

Bottle. Mild citrus and pine with light fruity notes. Smooth but not weak. Decent bitter finish. A tame IPA but very drinkable.

Medium sized head, white, lasting with a nice lace. Gold colored brew, Nose is decent, little dank and pissy.Body is medium with a soft carbonation, slight resiny notes. Crisp, danky hop flavors backed with tame pale malts that are clean and dry. Lightly fruity and juicy. Dry finish with a fairly decent bite. almost appears to be a SIPA but i guess with a 6% ABV,,,, it cant! Better than expected! Bottle from statelineliquors.

The appearance has a slightly hazy amber color with a large white head that fades somewhat quickly, and the aroma blends resin and citrus hops with diacetyl. The taste is mildly bitter and slightly sour, and the finish fuses a bitter finish, medium body, slick texture, and a soft carbonation. Overall, this beer isn’t anything unique or wow-worthy, but it is quite drinkable.

12oz bottle. A good IPA that I classify as an island IPA. Easy drinking and not overly thick/hoppy which make for a refreshing summer IPA.

Pint on tap this morning at Goody Boy’s in Columbus. Mostly clear golden orange color. Thin off-white head. Leaves good, thicker lace. Medium plus body. Smooth, kind of crisp, lighter carbonation. Lightly slick. Piney hop flavor, nice bigger amount of it, though not very complex. Some orange citrus. Moderate bitter taste. Light sweet. Simple, but solid, satisfying IPA. It hit the spot. Better than expected.

12 oz bottle. Pours golden yellow with a white head. Aroma of grapefruit, mandarin, white grape, grass, and light malt. Taste is grapefruit, orange, a bit peppery, crackery malt, and light bitterness. Overall, light and easy drinking with low bitterness but still a lot of nice hop flavor. I was pleasantly surprised by this.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12 oz bottle into a tulip glass. The label lists the abv at 6 %. It also has a freshness date and a short description of the beer. Appearance: The body is cloudy and has a light golden color. It’s head was small and settles quickly. It keeps just a wispy thin film with a ring of creamy bubbles at the edge of the glass. Smell: There is a nice hop character in the nose. It brings notes of citrusy grapefruit and tropical pineapple to the nose. Taste / Palate: The flavor is medium bodied with nice juicy hop flavor though out. It has very nice light bready malt sweetness backing up the citrusy and tropical fruity hop flavors. It finishes with just a quick flash of very mild hop bitterness. It feel light, but not thin and it is very drinkable. Notes: If you’re a hard core hop head this may not be for you but I love the balance and drinkability in this beer. This may also be a good IPA for craft beer newbies or people who like hop flavor with out heavy enamel stripping bitterness.

Tasted from bottle. Pours a hazy gold with white head. Not too strong of an aroma. Some pine and floral notes. Taste is very balanced. Nice even bitterness throughout. Some spicy notes. Pine and floral flavors with a sweet malt backbone. Crisp and dry mouthfeel. Pretty solid IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured from tap to glass. Golden hue with creamy white head. Aroma is caramel, pine, orange peel, paper, straw, wet cardboard. Mouthfeel is decent with medium light body and zesty carbonation. Taste is stale and oxidized throughout with a bitter following. Overall this was a poor IPA. I had it at a bar down the street from the brewery and thought it may have been an old keg. Unfortunately, I got another at the brewery in Kailua and it was just as stale. Disappointed and didn’t finish either pours.
