COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A full-bodied, American-Style I.P.A. that is bronze in color, Castaway IPA is "dry hopped" (aged with liberal amounts of whole hop flowers after fermentation) for assertive hop flavor and aroma. The bitterness is balanced by the malty body of the beer.

giallo carico, profumo di caramello floreale, in bocca corpo medio resinosa caramello leggermente astringente con un amaro deciso che bilancia bene la dolcezza e l’acidità, ma rimane un po pastosa sul palato

This tasted better when I drank it in Hawaii. I got it in the dead of winter on the coldest day of the year in Wisconsin to remind me of that summer holiday I one time had out on an island. The beer tasted so good then and now it is shorter, has a weak handshake, less assertive. I am saddened by the disruption of my pleasant memory of this ale.

Bottle. Pours medium orange-yellow with a decent white head. Nice aromas of pineapple (of course) and grapefruit. Taste is thoroughly bitter, but not overwhelmingly hoppy. Short aftertaste. Extra point for the nice bottle design.

I’ve lived here (Hawaii) for 20 months but haven’t rated this yet, not sure why. I really enjoy this beer, it was such a treat to find a locally made good IPA. Nice citrus & floral hop aroma, tangerines and clover honey. Deep golden color with an off-white head. Well-balanced, has a fair hop bitter follow. I’ve drank several cases of this in my time here, works well with the warm climate and a variety of local cuisine.

L: pours an orange-gold with noticeable carbonation, and a finger of white foam, some lacing. S: there are tropical notes, passionfruit, pineapple, mango, but instead of an IPA-esque piney-hop aroma, there’s a cardboard musty macro lager note. T: the taste is quite muted, I would’ve guessed APA. Tropical fruit flavours, citrus, malt. F: it’s crisp and easy to down. A slight residual sweetness at the tail. O: I remember this better, livelier flavour. Only a four-month-old bottle, but definitely lacking from memory.
