On Tap at the brewery in Kona - Poured dark copper color with thin off white head.
Aroma - Detected more malt than hops. Had a toasted malt scent followed by floral and herbal hops.
Flavor - A nice balance of malt with a decent amount of hops. I think this is an excellent version of this style. Does’nt have the overpowering hops like a IIPA, the malt shines through more on this brew!
Palate - Medium bodied and has average carbonation. Finish is somewhat bitter and very little aftertaste.
Overall - I liked this beer, not overly impressed but a definite must try if you make to Hawaii!!

Tap at the brewpub. Clean, lightish hop nose, very piney, dry. Easy, simple flavor, the hop is there but vwey piney, east-coasty, a not prevalent enough. A semblance of balance is here — not something I want in my IPAs. Still a solid effort, though.

On tap at the Kona Brew Pub on Oahu. Poured a medium amber color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of floral hops and some citrus. Tastes of floral hops, citrus, and light caramel. Nice lacing left on the glass.

Had this on tap after the tour while visiting the brewpub on vacation in Hawaii. This was one of my favorites that they offered at the time, and this place was great fun to visit!

UPDATED: MAR 6, 2009 On tap at Kona Koko Marina. Pours clear orange-amber with practically no head. Nose is mostly floral hops- pine and marijuana- with a little caramel. Tastes like it smells, but with the malty sweetness a little more pronounced. Mouthfeel is surprisingly thick and finish is long.

On tap at Koko Marina. Poured a clear copper/gold color with a two finger white head. Aroma of citrus, pine and a hint of malt. Flavor was well balanced with a good malt base, and citrus/pine in the hoppy finish.

Pours a nice copper orange with a decent white head. Aroma is citrusy hops, pine, malt. Flavor is much the same with a lot of citrus, hops, pine, and a decent malt backbone to balance it all out. The dry hopping is quite noticable and adds a lot of aroma and taste to this one. Good IPA.

From the tap poured a nice coppery color with a fair amount of head. Nice hoppy flavor with a lingering aftertaste.
