COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A full-bodied, American-Style I.P.A. that is bronze in color, Castaway IPA is "dry hopped" (aged with liberal amounts of whole hop flowers after fermentation) for assertive hop flavor and aroma. The bitterness is balanced by the malty body of the beer.

Bottle @ Village Inn, Orlando FL. Unclear yellow body with a medium white head. Fruity, pine, hops, light malt. Iím surprised with this one.

The aroma right from the bottle is very citrusy but it dissipates quickly... The taste however is very citrusy with lots of orange rind flavor... however most hop heads are going to find this brew a bit tame on the bitter front as the primary hop notes are in the taste and not the bitterness.... overall, itís solid but not exceptional... one might find this brew in a pale ale contest ... with fatigued judges...

kramer (4866) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 5, 2014
Bottle. Pours a clear gold body under a one inch frothy off-white head that had pretty nice retention. The nose is lightly citrusy with some caramel and bready maltiness. The flavor is on the lighter side as far as the hops go, which is all that matters for an IPA. Just a mild bitterness level, making for a not especially delicious or bright beer. This is more on the level of an APA. Light bodied and thinnish for the style, soft fizzy carbonation. Pretty far down on the list as far as IPAs go.

growler fill from brewery; decent IPA, more on the fruity side, pretty hoppy and dry, decent flavor, something you could drink a lot of.

Bottle. Nice hop aroma with hints of citrus. Very strong bitter punch that overpowers any more subtle hop or malt flavors. It mellowed slightly as I worked by way through it, but was still too bitter and dry for my tastes.

On tap poured a clear deep gold hue w/ medium white head slowly diminishing to a ring w/ minimal lacing. Big floral hop aromas. Initial flavor is light sweet w/ a bold bitter finish of moderate duration. Tastes are tangerine, white grapefruit, and light straw. Light to medium bodied, balanced mouthfeel and pleasant carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle on the balcony with Apollo, Caressa, and Marilyn. Fruity, hoppy, apricot candy aroma. Taste follows suit. Clean, bitter finish with fresh fruity hop flavors. Light and refreshing.

SDalkoholic (2141) - Linda Vista, California, USA - JUN 30, 2014
Bottle from Wal Mart: Aroma is delicate scents of hops that suggest citrus fruit peel and citrus juice with light background of bready malt. Poured a solid copper colored liquid while a tiny fizz of foam head. The drink is dry and has a bit of metallic flavor but other than that this IPA is bland with its flavor. This might be taste better than I am judging when youíre on the island or drinking it from a fresh keg.

Just good enough. It was strangely refreshing on a hot day. Still has the IPA taste you would expect.

12oz "Kona" bottle. Golden color. Aroma of dry hopped goodness. Flavor of floral hops, crisp malts. Itís a good beach beer. (4105)
