COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A full-bodied, American-Style I.P.A. that is bronze in color, Castaway IPA is "dry hopped" (aged with liberal amounts of whole hop flowers after fermentation) for assertive hop flavor and aroma. The bitterness is balanced by the malty body of the beer.

Bottle from Asahiya. Big stinky nose, pine, weeds, and more than a hint of manure. Medium blonde/straw color. Fruity initial, with citrus rind, resiny hopping, some citrus juiciness, and tropical fruit. Medium body. Harsh on the hopping, but I keep on sipping it. Good stuff. A step up from the level of most Kona beers.

Lots of hop resin in the aroma, pours slightly cloudy yellow \gold. Sparkling mouth feel, dry medium length aftertaste, nice balance and very easy to drink. Not very heavy body. Good IPA!

Couple of pints on tap. Clear and shiny orange-amber with a film of cream. Aroma of citrus, caramel and resiny green herb. Taste is the same mix. Light-medium body is watery and pretty sessionable.

The dry hopping helps a lot with this beer. It has a nice, sticky quality. But there's something unsettling about it. The back end is real watery. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Highly refreshing citrus hop aroma does not deliver on the taste. Somewhat watery, flat and one-dimensional.

Light amber, passionfruit, mango hop nose. Med-high bitterness, fruity hop, understated, biscuity malts. Good, refreshing, lighter IPA.

12 oz. bottle poured to a SA lager glass, showing a hazed, orangey gold color, with a fairly lasting, frothy, soft white layer of head foam, and ribbons & spots of lacing. The aroma was an expressive presentation of citrus & tropical notes, with resinous pine that created a strong nose of dank pungency. Medium bodied, with adequate carbonation, the taste offered a pronounced, citrus & rind hop bitterness, with lingering astringency, tempering malt, just a hint of malt sweetness, and some creamy fullness to the mouthfeel. A decent, "aware Iíve been hopped" IPA.
