A full-bodied, American-Style I.P.A. that is bronze in color, Castaway IPA is "dry hopped" (aged with liberal amounts of whole hop flowers after fermentation) for assertive hop flavor and aroma. The bitterness is balanced by the malty body of the beer.

A light tawny tipple. We’ve all felt like castaways at some point, society’s leftover, unwanted scraps. Not me, of course. But for the rest of you there is a beer in your memory. I shall drink it and toast to you. Not too bitter, more of a tropical fruit, floral and citrus hangout as the theme seems to be for Kona. A wee bit of piney snap but mostly chill grooves from the caramel and sugar cereal malt. Mid carbonation and refreshing as.

Bottle at home in Salisbury - picked up at Stateline. Pours clear, luscious gold with a frothy white head. The nose has pale bread up front, then some dynamic citrus elements, like tangerine, orange, faint melon and grapefruit. The flavor is medium sweet and well rounded, with minimal bitterness but nice, semi-full and rounded citrusy and tropical fruits. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Refreshing finish, pretty clean, with more grapefruit and tangerine, mellow citrus rind bitterness, some passionfruit. Actually, the more I drink of this beer the more I like it. Very drinkable stuff.

12 oz bottle-Pours hazy orange with a one finger head. Aroma is strong in mango and peaches, some hops. The taste is pretty much what i expected, tropical fruits, mellow hops, smooth and creamy, quite delicious.Body is medium and so is carbonation. Really enjoyed this, might be my new go to Kona beer!

12 oz bottle from a six pack bought at Super 1 in Rathdrum, ID. Aroma is floral, perfumy, pineapple, dough. Pours hazy golden-orange with a thick white pillowy head with great retention that leaves sheeting lace. Taste is bittersweet with no heavy influence of either; it has a non-cloying candy sweetness along with some light bitterness alongside; citrusy. Finely carbonated, medium body. Very standard but well done. Tasty.
