COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A full-bodied, American-Style I.P.A. that is bronze in color, Castaway IPA is "dry hopped" (aged with liberal amounts of whole hop flowers after fermentation) for assertive hop flavor and aroma. The bitterness is balanced by the malty body of the beer.

If your looking for a solid IPA, than your SOL. This was flat both in palate, taste, and hop. There are subtle floral undertones, but all in all not great.

12 oz bottle from Tipsy’s. Copper and clear appearance with a white head. Citrus hops, tropical fruits and light caramel malts. Medium body with a crisp, clean feel and a refreshing finish. Solid IPA.

4/26/14 - Draft at Garfield’s in Selinsgrove. Pours yellow with white head. Citrus nose and some pine. Citrus and pine notes with a nice caramel backbone, lingering into the after with a moderate bitter.Pretty solid.

12oz bottle. Pours a golden yellow with a nice white head of sticky lace. Aroma is fairly subtle, but indicates some hop bitterness. The flavor is far more hop-forward, with resiny bitter hops that hold on well into the finish. Enjoyable.

Bottle - Pours a hazy golden with a creamy head. Aromas of grapefruit and peach. Aromas carry through in the taste with some bitterness, but flavors are muddled. Finish is a bit soapy.

nose: pomelo...like scratching the skin and inhaling. palate: think of a buttery, over-hopped pilsner and you have this. it’s quite delicious. clean, minerally, citrusy, with a distinct dry and bitter mexican sweet lime flavor...but without the sweetness.

I have never commented on a bottle before, besides Orval, but this really is thing of beauty and worthy of apraisal. The beer pours nicely in the glass as well. We are dealing with a quite aggresively hopped IPA that balances good, but not great with the malts. Refreshing, though.
