A full-bodied, American-Style I.P.A. that is bronze in color, Castaway IPA is "dry hopped" (aged with liberal amounts of whole hop flowers after fermentation) for assertive hop flavor and aroma. The bitterness is balanced by the malty body of the beer.

If your looking for a solid IPA, than your SOL. This was flat both in palate, taste, and hop. There are subtle floral undertones, but all in all not great.

Tap. Light clear amber pour. Pine, caramel, grapefruit, pineapple. Medium body. Slight caramel sweetness. Not a lot of bitterness. Different than expected. Easy to drink

Bottled shared with McTapps. This one offered not that what I expetced. Well, it had its dry and hoppy moments but it was also a bit dull and skunky. Some nuts and rye also in the company. Not bad at all.

Bottle from Rudat in Dortmund. Pours out in a light hazy golden-light amber colour with low, steady head and medium body. Aroma of fresh hops and herbs. Taste of fesh hops, herbs, spruce, mild spices, citrus fruits. Little bit dusty finish with malty hints. Expected more,

Draught @ Flying Saucer, Addison. Clear golden, rounded. Mild for an IPA, bit malty even. Nice starter. Herby nose.

Bottle@ahven. Coppery, light haze. Hoppy nose, with some light caramels. Earthy pines, tropicality, green berries. Med light bodied, bit dryharsh, bready, malts. Bitter. Nice long hoppy finish. Quite nice, could be softer.

The aroma is mostly earthy noble hops with sublte hints of spice and citrus. The flavor is similar and adds a slight toasty sweet character from the malt. Iíd say itís more medium bodied than full, finishes crisp and bitter

This isnít a world beater but it is a tasty and aromatic IPA. It pours cloudy orange golden and has only a small head of mixed bubbles. Aroma is big and hoppy, lots of pine w/ a bit of a savory herbal character. This is pretty dry and any sweetness is balanced by a lingering, resinous bitterness in the finish. It is a medium bodied beer and somewhat vigorous carbonation helps keep it pretty drinkable. I would not exactly call this a standout IPA but definitely I could drink a six pack of it w/o it getting sticky and gross or me getting sick of it so that is good enough for me.

Draft. Pale orange body, lite amount of foam ring. Aroma of lite citrus, berry. Flavor is smooth, low hoppiness with a soft palate.

Bottle from GBBF 2014 and drunk at home. Gold clear lasting thin white head. Fresh grapefruit hop aroma. Plenty of grapefruit in the mouth. Fresh tasty some tropical fruits too. Really reminded me of a Kernel IPA. Malts are there and fine and keep the hops in check, but donít do much else. Some mild bitterness on the finish. Lovely fresh hoppy IPA. Love the grapefruity tropical fruit flavours. Just like biting into fresh fruit. Lovely.

Bottle: Poured an amber/orangey color ale with a medium size foamy head with good retention and some light lacing. Aroma of citrus hops with light floral undertones is quite nice. Taste is also dominated by citrus hoppy notes with light bitterness and some dry caramel malt. Dry hops notes are not as dominant as I would have expected based on the product description. Body is about average with good carbonation. Enjoyable IPA but nothing I would seek again necessarily.
