A full-bodied, American-Style I.P.A. that is bronze in color, Castaway IPA is "dry hopped" (aged with liberal amounts of whole hop flowers after fermentation) for assertive hop flavor and aroma. The bitterness is balanced by the malty body of the beer.

Tap at Old Chicago. Pretty bland I thought. SOme floral hops, slightly bitter, malty balance detracts from the hops.

Bottle: Golden, light honey color, white head. Aroma is mainly pine, bit herbal and citrus. Flavor is fruity, pine, herbs, oranges. Ok but I miss some character or singular notes.

Ambrata chiara, leggermente velata, schiuma bianca, pannosa, buona ritenzione. Predominante aroma di agrumi fedele allo stile di riferimento. Al palato si ripresentano prepotentemente le note agrumate e successivamente viene fuori il malto che rende la bevuta meno amara; note erbacee ed agrumate sul finale. Molto beverina, corpo leggero, leggermente acquosa, carbonatazione media. Una buona IPA.

Bottle @ Easter. Clear golden pour with white foam. Surprisingly nice aroma. Some pineapple, lots of orange, and a bit of pithy grapefruit. Slightly grassy and piney as well. Nice malt malt profile underneath. Kind of toasty. There’s a nice bitterness to the flavor, but not overly sharp or anything. A lot of grapefruit and orange rind. Slight tropical sweetness and a touch of melon. Hints of caramel and toasted grain. Decent sweetness without being overwhelming.

bottle @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Clear medium amber with a long-lasting 2-finger white head, bands of lace. Taste is malt that is quickly pushed aside by strong pine hops. The hops are dominant enough to keep all other possibilities at bay. Okay for hopheads, but not much if one is looking for balance, complexity, or anything other than hops.

Bottle. Pours a hazy earthy dull orange with a white head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma combines citrus with musty pine and has some bread and earthy grains backing. Flavor has some musty citrus with a hint of earthy pine and a bland grain note underlying.
