A full-bodied, American-Style I.P.A. that is bronze in color, Castaway IPA is "dry hopped" (aged with liberal amounts of whole hop flowers after fermentation) for assertive hop flavor and aroma. The bitterness is balanced by the malty body of the beer.

This is what I mean when I say IPA. Like the Lucille's, Boneyards, and others who balance the floral elements of the hop with a bit of bitterness, this beer is outstanding. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

nose: pomelo...like scratching the skin and inhaling. palate: think of a buttery, over-hopped pilsner and you have this. it’s quite delicious. clean, minerally, citrusy, with a distinct dry and bitter mexican sweet lime flavor...but without the sweetness.

On tap at the brewery-- This one rates way up there on my scale. This brew has everything I want in a beer--superb balance of flavors, hearty hop aroma and taste, nice pallate & appearance--very close to the perfect brew. Wish the brewery wasn't thousands of miles away...

Tried this with my pizza and really like so picked up a 6’er. Very clean IPA, citrus, slightly bitter but not like many IPA’s today. This is almost session able. Great summer or warm weather IPA.

Poured from the tap into a pint glass at the Iron Abbey in Willow Grove, PA. The appearance is q light golden color with some murky properties. The head is white and medium sized. The aroma is a good blend of hops and fruit. The taste is full of hops, malt and tropical fruit. Overall, a very good brew from Kona.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12 oz bottle into a tulip glass. The label lists the abv at 6 %. It also has a freshness date and a short description of the beer. Appearance: The body is cloudy and has a light golden color. It’s head was small and settles quickly. It keeps just a wispy thin film with a ring of creamy bubbles at the edge of the glass. Smell: There is a nice hop character in the nose. It brings notes of citrusy grapefruit and tropical pineapple to the nose. Taste / Palate: The flavor is medium bodied with nice juicy hop flavor though out. It has very nice light bready malt sweetness backing up the citrusy and tropical fruity hop flavors. It finishes with just a quick flash of very mild hop bitterness. It feel light, but not thin and it is very drinkable. Notes: If you’re a hard core hop head this may not be for you but I love the balance and drinkability in this beer. This may also be a good IPA for craft beer newbies or people who like hop flavor with out heavy enamel stripping bitterness.
