COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A full-bodied, American-Style I.P.A. that is bronze in color, Castaway IPA is "dry hopped" (aged with liberal amounts of whole hop flowers after fermentation) for assertive hop flavor and aroma. The bitterness is balanced by the malty body of the beer.

Colore biondo, schiuma scarsa. Profumo intenso floreale, erbaceo, agrumato, resinoso. In bocca poco frizzante, lieve nota dolce maltata poi subito un bell’amaro lungo e abbondante.

Bottle at Oak Barrel Hki airport. Yellowish orange beer with no significant head. Aroma is mostly malts, caramel, some piney and peachy hops. Maybe this is a bit old sample? Taste is resinous, some peaches and tropical fruits, same maltiness dominates, but still ok. Finishes quite smooth and bitter. Mouthfeel was medium+ and co2 on the higher side. Quite ok, I'm feeling my sample wasn't the freshest. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. $1.75 Wine Warehouse. Pours golden, slightly hazy, tiny head. Smells of hops, a bit of grass, almost lagery. Taste is strong hops, not overly flavorful, and finishes quite bitter. OK.

Citrus pine aroma in a golden amber pour. Light hop forward balance with fruity body and sustained bitter finish. The best of the regular Kona brews in my book.

A solid offering from Kona, which I have not re-visited in a long while. Nicely balanced and inoffensive IPA; it reaches that medium sweet and bitter medium. Nice aroma. Nice brew. Serving Size: Multi-12oz bottled experience.

Pours golden with a nice foamy head. Aroma is lovely citrus fruits, a little cheese on the end of the nose too. Sweet, malty and citrus flavours burst through with just a hint of bitterness.

A little dry and bitter for my liking. Not terrible but the balance is almost but not quite right. Still, I’ll drink it and happily open another!
