COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Fire Rock Pale Ale is a crisp, refreshing “Hawaiian-style” pale ale. Its signature copper color results from the unique blend of specialty roasted malts. The pronounced citrus-floral hop aroma comes from the liberal amounts of Galena, Cascade & Mt. Hood hops added to each brew.

Pretty good pale ale here. Golden color with an average white head. Aroma had the typical citrus smells. Flavor had a malt presence followed by a hop flavor and balancing bitterness.

Nice golden/amber color, small off white head that faded slowly and left a tiny lace behind. The aroma was mildly malty with a decent hop presence and mild fruit coming through as well. The flavor wasn’t as good as i was hopeing it would be.Lightly malty, lightly fruity with a decent but not so great attempt at hops.Mild bitterness in the end with a slight hop after taste.Nothing special but decent enough to try atleast once or maybe twice.

DarkElf (3035) - La Jolla, California, USA - JUN 19, 2004
UPDATED: NOV 7, 2004 (12 oz bottle) A balanced, but generic pale ale from start to finish, with a mildly sweet maltiness, a hint of woodiness, and a moderate hoppiness that takes on a light grapefruit character in the finish. The finish is pretty smooth. The nose is lightly malty, perhaps a bit of orange citrus. Orange golden in color and quite murky. Sizeable off-white head has very good head retention and leaves a haphazard pattern of lacing. When it comes right down to it, this is just an average tasting pale ale, easy to drink, pleasant enough, but not something I’d likely buy again.

scraff (2121) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - JUN 16, 2004
Memories of a Hawaiian honeymoon. Deep hazed gold, disappearing tan head. Citric hops, caramel and light toffee in the nose. Flavor is more roasted malt then hoppy with a touch of graininess to boot. Medium-bodied, fizzy carbonation, bitter, semi-dry finish. Good session beer when on the islands, but don’t go out of your way in the lower 48.

hopscotch (9221) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - JUN 15, 2004
UPDATED: JUL 1, 2007 Bottle... Clear, deep, golden ale. The aroma is full of juicy citrus fruit and toffee. The flavor almost mirrors the aroma... citrus fruit rind and a more pronounced caramel taste instead of toffee. Malty, but generously bittered. Medium-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Lengthy, lightly bitter, dry finish. Thanks to Rich McCauley for bringing this bottle back from his trip to Hawaii!

Pours a lightly hazy gold color with a tan head that disappears after a bit. There is a hoppy aroma of candid citrus fruit, malt, and a hint of alcohol. Sweetish with a nice toasted biscuits and malt flavor up front. This beer finishes with a solid hop flavor and a nice sharp bitterness. I get notes of toffee, orange, hay, tropical fruit, and herbs. This is a pretty good pale, light bodied, and easy drinking.

Poured a clean golden orange body with a white head and some decent lacing. Aroma and flavors are citrusy with carmel and nuts. Not a bad brew.

Orange-copper body with medium carbonation. Fruity malt aroma plus orange citrus and light caramel. Similar character in the flavor but a bit more hoppy. Balance is decent.

pours a nice orange hue with minimal head. lots of little yeast floaties. floral hops, akin to SNPA. weak palate and flavors, mostly of hops with an orange twist. This company tried an SNPA clone and failed. sorry Hawaii!
