2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 harlequinn (2745) - Tacoma, Washington, USA - MAY 2, 2004
This one has a very disgusting public restroom aroma, almost like walking into a rest area, or a truck stop perhaps. Also lingering aroma of grass clippings and wet cardboard. Absolutely no legs or lacing, and a quicklyh diminishing head. A very golden pale appearance. The malts give this one a terrible tasting thin mouthfeel, and a toasted breakfast cereal aftgertaste.
2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 wunderbier (1434) - Tampere, FINLAND - MAY 2, 2004
12 oz bottle, snifter. Grainy, toasted cereal malt (M); flowery hops (L); touch of gas station bathroom in the aroma. Moderately sweet, lightly acidic flavor becomes a lightly sweet, lightly bitter, lightly acidic, husky finish. Aftertaste of toasted cheerios. Medium body, watery/oily texture, lively carbonation. The bottom line is: was it worth getting my Hawaii rating? Sure, why not.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 brewshthereen (316) - Oregon, USA - APR 29, 2004
UPDATED: FEB 6, 2005 This poured with a light orange body, quickly diminishing head, with some lace. Aroma is floral and fruity. The flavor is sweet malty, grassy, and a bit earthy. Easy going and even tempered, maybe like Hawaii. A little thin at the end. Overall ok.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 BückDich (5467) - McCall, Idaho, USA - APR 29, 2004
Floaties of yeast in suspension on a pale amber canvus with some sticky lacing and foamy looking light head. The aroma is musky with some light hops, diacytel and a funky malt profile. The flavor has a cloying dry sweetness followed by a sandpaper layer of hops that scratch over trying to balance. Full bodied in a bad way with a finish like that Orange cleaner that Billy Mays sells. Could be a little better crafted to me.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Sham (1846) - Seattle, Washington, USA - APR 25, 2004
Slightly cloudy amber whit a thin creamy white head. Some lacing. Small hop profile, some malts. Nicely balanced. The flavor is pretty good. A nice hop character with a great malt backing. Citrus as well. Some lemon. A bit piney. Nice. A bitter finish to an all right pale.

Poured hazy amber with a quickly dissapating head. Very mild flavor, very smooth. Overall not too bad

Lightly hazed amber color with a silk off white head. Only a small amount of lace. Ver light aromas. Maybe my nose is not working tonight. Hints of light rose petals and mild pale malt. Not bad, I just need more. Light floral and fruitt malt flavors. Peaches and cream come to mind. Smooth and rye slick feel. Finish has a mild dry pecan flavor and a nice dry caramel linger.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Reid (1437) - Salem,Oregon, Oregon, USA - APR 11, 2004
My second beer from this brewer tonight..they seem to have appeared on the Salem market only this week.
served in a 12 oz brown longneck.
Nice enough amber/copper coloured ale..with a rather large frothy white head..that goes fast but there is some gorgeous lacing.
the aroma is pleasant mainlly spicy ( Cascade?) hops..fresh.,
The taste is rather laid back, maybe what I should expect from Hawaii, its well balanced between the malts and some nice yet understated hopping..
Nice and very smooth on the tongue.
Good drinking pale rather in the English style as opposed to the usual NW pale.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 leitrim65 (400) - Seattle, Washington, USA - APR 5, 2004
This one looks and tastes like a good quality lager. Golden color with a medium white head that quickly disipates. The aroma is lacking but the little I could pick up was malt and some herbalness. Light bodied with sweet malt flavors and a very mild hop finish. A nice beer.
