Fire Rock Pale Ale is a crisp, refreshing “Hawaiian-style” pale ale. Its signature copper color results from the unique blend of specialty roasted malts. The pronounced citrus-floral hop aroma comes from the liberal amounts of Galena, Cascade & Mt. Hood hops added to each brew.

Poured a n amber/copper with a nice off-white head that left decent lacing. The aroma was predominately pine. There was a good crisp clean initial taste with a nice bit of a hop bite. Not too strong, but enough to let you know there was hops. The hops left a slight bitterness on the finish, but again not overpowering. There was a bit of pine in the flavor as well as the aroma along with a slightly metallic taste towards the finish and some malt sweetness. This is a nice session beer.

Sugary, toasted aroma. Taste conjures up its volcano heritage. Sweet coating palate. Served from bottle in pint glass.

Nice and bitter way to start off a Sunday morning. Had this beer brought back to Canada for me and was suprised mainly cause i didnt think anything good would come out of the Kona brewery, but this is the second Kona brew i’ve had and so far so good or so average but so what? Dark amber with a good lasting fresh fruity smell and a decent thick head that had some legs..but, like most average brew, i polish it off waaaay to quick. Next.

A more than compretent Pale Ale. Subdued hops on the nose. Darkish orange hue. Solid malty profile with subtle but satisfying hops in the finish.

Rich caramel malt and pineapple aroma. Dark amber color, clear, no head. Walnut taste. Medium fullness. Clean generic finish with a faint kiss of marigold. Not terribly complex which works for this beer. Tasty, refreshing, and sessionable. Quite a good deal for its price and availability.

2009 Bottle - Pours a dk orange with a medium, lasting white head...aroma is citrusy and clean, hop florals and light malt...flavour is not so great, bitterness on the front that has no malt balance, all I taste is bitterness, no real defining characteristics, maybe some toast and dough..but man, not good...

Bottle. Copper/amber pour with white head. Malty aroma with slight citrus and spice notes. Not much jumps out with this beer. Slightly heavy on the malt, not much hop presence. Easy drinking sessionable beer with not much going on.

Beautiful copper colour. White head. Strong, but not overpowering aroma. Hops were strong, but the right amount. a sweet/citrus finish.
