COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Fire Rock Pale Ale is a crisp, refreshing “Hawaiian-style” pale ale. Its signature copper color results from the unique blend of specialty roasted malts. The pronounced citrus-floral hop aroma comes from the liberal amounts of Galena, Cascade & Mt. Hood hops added to each brew.

UPDATED: MAY 26, 2013 The malts come out in this beer, with a floral hop aroma. I enjoyed this more the second time around.

12oz brown bottle. Golden colour, hazy. Holds a nice creamy whitish cap, nice lacing. Nose has fruity notes, citrus and caramel. Taste caramel malt and light honey sweetness, fruity and floral, some citrus peel hops with light bitterness. Medium bodied. Pretty good APA.

Si presenta di un arancio con purtroppo quasi assenza di schiuma. Aroma buono di malto, che si conferma alla bevuta. Alcool 6% ben presente, è una ale decente che però manca un po’ di complessità.

355 ml bottle. More than less clear orange body with a medium sized off-white head. Aroma is quite malty for an APA with more decree citric fruit and a hint of brown sugar. Flavor is rather malty as well, medium fruity, moderate bitter and hint of brown sugar/caramel. Medium body and a bit short in aftertaste. Totally drinkable but a bit boring.

Poured from 12oz brown bottle into a tulip glass. It poured a clear orange amber with persistent white foam and a little lace. Grainbill featured slight malt sweetness, a little caramel, and a strong biscuit/toasty note similar to Fat Tire. Hoppier and more aromatic than Fat Tire though, with intense New World varietal traits: slightly coarse bitterness, big round fruity flavour, grapefruit zest, pine resin, black pepper, dank ganja. Light-medium body and average carbonation, nice nutty and toasty mouthfeel, lingering bittersweet aftertaste. Good with rich food. Perhaps not as smooth overall as some other flagship APAs, but then, it possessed added complexities which others lack. Good stuff, I’d definitely drink it again.

Aroma is light. Little malt. Taste is sort of dull hops. Really not a very good pale ale. Drinks like an esb.... And I hate esbs....

Bottle from Antioch Fine Wine. Pours orangey copper body with little head. Aroma has some citrus and pine, with biscuity malt. Taste is of some light citrus and light pine. A bit malty. Clean finish. Shrug? Nothing special. 12.8

Impressive three-finger head that leaves nice ring lace on the glass. Hazy, neutral amber color. Head dies slowly. Extreme caramel aroma; reminds me of cotton candy. No hop; no alcohol to the nose. Mostly malty with lots of biscuity and grainy flavors. Light hop shows up on the swallow and the aftertaste. Very full bodied for the style. Moderate carbonation. In the end, there’s too much candy (but still not sweet) to this beer.
