Fire Rock Pale Ale is a crisp, refreshing “Hawaiian-style” pale ale. Its signature copper color results from the unique blend of specialty roasted malts. The pronounced citrus-floral hop aroma comes from the liberal amounts of Galena, Cascade & Mt. Hood hops added to each brew.

Draught. Amber-dark yellow color with small off-white creamy head, very faint malt aroma, slightly bitter taste, low carbonation, longish finish with bitter citrus peel aftertaste. Interesting but not spectacular.

Hazy amber color, average sized white head. Light to medium body, average carbonation. Aroma of peach, tropical fruits, malt and alcohol. Taste is the same, minus alcohol which is hidden, plus some citrus and orange notes. Light sweet, light bitter. Medium body, average carbonation. Nothing exciting, but OK.

Bottle. Aroma fuity, strawberry, caramel, toasted, roasted. Almost clear copper colour. Short lasting head. Very nicely balanced taste, showing both moderate bitterness and fruity hops flavour with equal strength maltiness, toasted, roasted, hint of caramel. Easily drinkable, very good.

Pours a nice dark golden color with a light head leaving a little lacing. Malty fruity aroma. Malty at the front, little bit of hops in the middle with an easy smooth mouthfeel and little aftertaste. Much better than I expected, refreshing paddle ale.

I had people tell me how good this beer is and how when they were on the coast this is all they drank, so I was eager to try this. Meh, it’s just okay but nothing really special. Not much hop character for being a pale ale but was crisp and refreshing.

Bottle at the Greyfriar in Reading. Fresh, buttery pale ale. Magma colour is appropriate. Tasty, though not exceptional. I would have it again though.
