COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Fire Rock Pale Ale is a crisp, refreshing “Hawaiian-style” pale ale. Its signature copper color results from the unique blend of specialty roasted malts. The pronounced citrus-floral hop aroma comes from the liberal amounts of Galena, Cascade & Mt. Hood hops added to each brew.

Comparing it to other reviews, mine must be skewed high since I just got off work and have a hot slice of pizza in hand. Either way, it goes well with the couch and pizza.

Pours a highly carbonated gold with an effervescent and short-lived head. Tastes of citrus fruits, with hints of caramel and cream; slightly bitter aftertaste and aggressive fizz on the palate. Enjoyable.

A crisp, light citrus island lager. Has a quick bitterness with a calming malt sweetness. On the same kinda level as a Red Stripe. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Clear amber with little white head. Aroma is very fruity, a little heavy, lychee, peach, melon, some flowery/grassy hops. Taste is not as fruity, more malty bread, resin-like bittersweetness. Finish is more resin, some fizzy tablet. However still quite heavy/oily and not so easy to drink. Overall very good.

Orange and deep biscuit malts. Very nice and lots of grip. Not sur eit would be a thirst quencher in Hawaii but excellent.

12 ounce bottle from Valli Produce on State Street, Rockford IL, sampled a few minutes our of the fridge in a pint glass. This was in the .99 bin and I was afraid I got an old lemon when there wasn’t a hint of "pop" as I flipped the cap off, but it pours with a sizeable head, loads of thick lacing which lasts and lasts, atop a dark amber, almost copper clear body. Surprisingly this is the first Hawaiian beer I’ve had, or at least first rated; could have sworn I’d had a couple of other Kona products over the past few years in my non-rating period. And I’ve never been to Hawaii and never really thought about it until fairly recently; my brother took his first trip with the woman who became his wife there about 6 years ago and while they fought a lot there and it looked like it was not going to end well, they’re still together, with two little girls now. So maybe Hawaii was a positive influence on them after all, they sure talk about it a lot. More digression...anyway this has a light, mostly grassy aroma, dry and pleasing, hints of citrus and wet bark, not really distinctive enough....very full on the tongue, with a cherry-like sweet-sour character, not really a flavor of that fruit but just the balance of taste characteristics reminds me of it...it does feel just a touch flat, so maybe the bottle was a bit old after all, and a tiny bit sticky as it moves to a moderately dry, lightly spicy, lightly hoppy finish. Overall perfectly fine, nothing to remember, unlike my memories of another’s memories of the islands...

처음 마실 때 들어오는 꿀향이 인상적이다. 몰티함 때문에 묵직함도 느낄 수 있다.

Like an old Curmudgeon, Fire Rock has a wall of bitterness with a buttery undertone. Basic Pale Ale offering from Kona.
