glennmastrange (417), hobe sound, Florida, USA Apr 30, 2008 Bottle. Light malt note of light bread, moderate aromas of pine and resin for the hops, light broth for the yeast, and brown sugar and date in the background. Head is small, white, with good lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is clear light copper. Flavor is moderately acidic to start and lightly acidic and moderately bitter in the finish. Palate is light to medium, watery with a hint of oiliness, and has a fizzy carbonation. It finishes a little metallic and lightly astringent. A nice beer for dumping a few, yet tasty enough to take your time with.
SilkTork (3943), Rochester, Kent, England Oct 10, 2008 GBBF, Trade Day, 2008 Bottle. American hops and a sweetish malt. Rather vague and ill defined. Nothing impressive, but drinkable. Caleb1035 (33), , North Carolina, USA Oct 7, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Aroma is nice with citrus hints. Appeareance is very amber with quickly dissipating head. Smells good, looks good...taste is only average. BDR (1929), Roseville, Minnesota, USA Oct 6, 2008 bottle. Amber color with white head and a light hops and malt on the aroma. Nice carbonation. Light roasted and toasted malts with a light hops finish.
ajm (380), California, USA Oct 5, 2008 Tap at the original Yard House. I think Pershing is dead on: average. While the color is darker than your standard pale ale, the aroma is undistinguished at the flavor is simply unimpressive. I detected more malt that hops, actually, and the whole brew seemed very settled as opposed to bright and sprightly as living in SoCal has accustomed me to. Pershing (113), Garland, Texas, USA Oct 2, 2008 Hazy amber with a small head. Slight floral aroma with light hoppy taste. Smooth finish. Average American pale ale.
