BeerZack (116), Austin, Texas, USA Mar 31, 2008 Very light amber, almost dark orange with moderate off white head that leaves some lace.
Light scents of caramel malt and roasted barley with fruity and floral hops slightly dominating.
Sweet lightly roasted malts and nice hop bittering throughout. Mostly roasted barley, caramel, light ripe fruit and bit of citrus before the woodsy bittering takes over.
Moderate-heavy carbonation, but not too stingy. Medium bodied mouthfeel. Pretty drinkable.
KimJohansen (2904), Copenhagen V, Denmark Aug 5, 2008 Clear amber with medium off white head. Sweet aroma with pine, caramel and hoppy notes. Sweet hoppy flavor with caramel and hoppy notes. OldGrowth (1265), Cary, North Carolina, USA Aug 4, 2008 Pint @ Harrisons. Ok aroma, sweet, biscuity cardboard, minor citrus. Clean brownish orange color, good head & lace. Bitter sweet flavor. citrusy grassy bitterness, a cardboard streak that dulls flavor, lite tofffe maltiness. medium body, creamy mouthfeel, bitter finish. Eh, ok, no pronounced citrus/floral for me though, kind of avarage at best. rayg1 (404), Ft. Mill, South Carolina, USA Aug 4, 2008 Second taste of Hawaii beer I got to enjoy last week. I have to say that this wasn’t too bad, but then again wasn’t that good either. Aroma is pretty sweet, almost too much in my opinion, the hops come in at the last moment to save it. The pour is nothing special, yellow orange with a thin off-white head. Taste is again sweet of malts up front with a punch of hops just in the nick of time to save it from abomination. This was ok, not too bad after a long day in the sun. douglas88 (676), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA Aug 2, 2008 Bottle from the Trump hotel is Las Vegas. Pours a light amber with a thick white head. The aroma is full of citrus hops and some caramel. The taste was basically a nice balance between a caramel malt and smooth hops, some bitterness in the finish. Very drinkable. chrisafari (61), Orange, California, USA Jul 31, 2008 Pours dark amber, clear, with thin white lacey head. Aroma is mellow and roasted. Flavor begins with a nice kick of roasted malt then develops into a very nice hop and citrus finish. Overall a good pale ale, I’d have it again.
