Fire Rock Pale Ale is a crisp, refreshing “Hawaiian-style” pale ale. Its signature copper color results from the unique blend of specialty roasted malts. The pronounced citrus-floral hop aroma comes from the liberal amounts of Galena, Cascade & Mt. Hood hops added to each brew.

Nice colour but muted hops on the nose and on the palate. Guessing not a fresh bottle.

Pours dark gold with a thin, fizzy head. Aroma is very floral, not overly strong, but with very noticeable hints of flowers and freshly cut melon. Taste is upfront dry and rather bitter, mellows slightly on the swill, and concludes with a long but soft pineapple finish that is all in all still dominated by the underlying bitterness. Pleasant enough, and not overly hopped beyond repair, but missing a certain complexity of flavor that could bring this one further. Good.

Bottle from Safeway in Redwood City, CA. Aroma is malty, floral hops, some breadiness. More like an amber ale to me or even an English Pale. A little wet and soggy and bitter. Wished this was more bright and tropical. A bit of an identity crisis on this one.

Thought I'd give this Brewer another shot, but I think I'm done. Looked promising as I poured it. My initial reaction was, "This isn't as bad as the revie—hold up. Nope. This is gym sock lake swill." ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle, 0.355l. Clear amber color with thin soapy off-white head and sparkling appearance. Aroma of citrus, pine, grass and mild caramel. Taste starts with moderate sweet caramel and resin, following is refreshing fruity, mouth feel is crisp, while finish is moderate bitter. Medium body, oily texture and average carbonation in palate. Good one, tastes like IPA...

BOTTLE. Clean orange to gold pour with minimal white head.. Orange/tangerine with some malt on the nose.. Orange flavour & a big malt backbone dominates throughout, minimal hops towards the end with a malt bite to finish.. Sourced Cellarbrations @ Capel

Nice citrus (grapefruit zest/apricot marmalade) and floral (grass) nose, with a hint of Diet Coke caramel. More caramel malt in the body (but not massively rich, or malty either). Easy-drinking, interesting pale. Beer geek moment: I like Galena hops (used in many of the Porterhouse brewery’s creations).
