Enjoyed this beer fresh on tap at the Brewery in Dec 2015. You can’t get it in the bottle (which fyi are brewed and produced in the Portland branch not the small Hawaiian brewery. So if you are in Hawaii make sure to get your Kona Beer fresh on tap!) We love our Germany and Belgium wheats and we find that it’s hard to find comparable ones in N. America, but this was pretty darn good! Sadly, you can only get it when you’re in Hawaii...

Really muddy, looks like crap. It looked at least this bad at the brewery and I’s been avoiding it, but avoiding Kona beer in the islands is impossible so here we go. Aroma is very yeasty with some banana and light phenols. Tart, lightly phenolic and way too yeasty...the best examples don’t taste like old socks. Barely drinkable.

pretty good for a hefe...it’s got a good dose of the banana/clove things going on, but not too much. light and refreshing with a minimal hop presence. not bad."

Poured from tap to glass. Hazy straw hue with white head that held a ring. Aroma is clove forward, melon, banana, straw, honey. Mouthfeel is nice with a light body and soft carbonation. Taste is sweet throughout with CO2 sharpness in the finish. Overall this is an interesting Hefe. It is reminiscent of Belgian style esters mixed in. Not bad but not great either.
