Excellent example of an unfiltered Hefeweizen. Banana up front, full mouthfeel, good finish, with subtle spice.

On tap at the brewery, served in a tasting glass with a lemon wedge. Pours cloudy golden with small white head that fades to a thin rim of bubbles and leaves a small amount of fine lace. The nose has wheat, pale malts, subtle coriander and spice, along with banana and Belgian-style yeast. The flavour is medium malty sweet with moderate spice and a nice fruitiness. As it develops, banana and fruit become more prominent. Wheat comes through in the finish, which is long, dryish and slightly spicy. On the palate it is medium in body with a smooth, milky texture and soft carbonation. Overall, this is a decent hefeweizen, though it takes a middle-of-the-road approach in most dimensions. 2013-08-10

Tap at the brewery, served very cold with 1/8 of a lemon. Murky yellow, no head. Hardly any aroma. Lightbodied, fizzy. Light spicy wheat base, light citric notes, quick finish. I would be surprised if they used a German yeast in this one. I see that I disagree with previous raters, there seems to be some variability

~Aroma of banana, vanilla, bubble gum, and light clove. ~Pours a hazy orangish yellow with small white head that quickly disappears. ~Banana, bubble gum, light clove in flavor. ~Med light bodied, med high CO2, spicy finish. ~Great Hefeweizen! Love that the banana vanilla dominates over the spicy clove.

Tap @ their Honolulu Pub... Poured super cloudy, golden, pale yellow with a white head. Lots of banana phenols here with creamy vanilla, wheat malt flavoring and even a hint of mint.

Much better than the wheat beer on tap that we sampled at the same time. THis one had vibrant fruit flavors, but also some nice yeasty sour notes and a very smooth finish. Bright and complex. I like this one a lot.
