Really muddy, looks like crap. It looked at least this bad at the brewery and I’s been avoiding it, but avoiding Kona beer in the islands is impossible so here we go. Aroma is very yeasty with some banana and light phenols. Tart, lightly phenolic and way too yeasty...the best examples don’t taste like old socks. Barely drinkable.

On tap at the Kona Brew Pub on Oahu. Poured a deeper and cloudy golden yellow color with a smaller sized head. Aromas of bananas, cloves, and pepper. Tastes of the same but on the weaker and somewhat watery side. Light citrus in there as well.

Tap. Sweet banana/orange and wheat malt aroma. Cloudy yellow-amber color with small head. Banana/orange and wheat malt flavor. Very well made - a very good Hefe.

On tap @ the brewery in Kona. Cloudy golden topped by a dense white meringue. Beautiful banana and bubblegum aroma, classic. Zesty fresh wheaty with lovely banana flavour. Authentically executed.

Had on tap after a tour of the place while vacationing in Hawaii. This was one of their better beers for sure.

Draught, Kona Brewpub, HI. Head is mostly diminishing. Body is murky dark yellow. Aroma is moderately malty (bread), with notes of banana and clove. Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. One of the better offerings from Kona (and yeah, that includes the Da Grind, which I’m not fond of), an accurate representation of a German Hefe (who the heck put this in the db as an American Wheat???).

pretty good for a hefe...it’s got a good dose of the banana/clove things going on, but not too much. light and refreshing with a minimal hop presence. not bad."

Tap@ Yardhouse hnl. Hazy golden color with white sheen. Tart wheat, clove, mild banana aromas. medium body with soft co2. Nice lightly sweet n’ spicy banana, clove flavors with some tart pale wheat to balance--tasty hefe

Tap at the brewery, served very cold with 1/8 of a lemon. Murky yellow, no head. Hardly any aroma. Lightbodied, fizzy. Light spicy wheat base, light citric notes, quick finish. I would be surprised if they used a German yeast in this one. I see that I disagree with previous raters, there seems to be some variability

Milky and opaque, cloudy and orange. Good banana-like aroma but only a light yeasy character, while lightly fruity.
