Is there anything more iconic of the lush tropics than the coconut? The delicious heart of this island treasure has a nutty, toffee flavor and aroma that sends you straight to the beaches of Paradise. Kick back with a Koko Brown, brewed with real toasted coconut, and savor the mahogany color and smooth, roasty malt taste. Available Winter/Spring Koko Brown pairs well with coconut and caramel flavors, such as Thai curries, BBQ meats and carne asada. Its refreshing nutty aroma makes for the perfect beer after a day on the water.

Pours a light cola color with a creamy off white head. Aroma is coconut and barley. Flavor screams malt balls and coconut .

I have no idea why I bought a beer called "Koko" from Hawaii and didn’t think that it might have coconut in it. I can’t stand coconut. This beer is significantly coconutty. The base beer is sugary, like dimestore chocolate wafers. If you grew up on those wafers (which came in diabetic vanilla, radioactive pink, and kona brewing company chocolate flavors), you can take a trip down memory lane with this beer. I couldn’t finish half the bottle myself.

12oz bottle poured into snifter. Pretty brown color, slightly murky with a white foamy head. Not a lot of coconut flavor/aroma to speak of but it tastes much better then any normal brown ale.

Pour is a translucent mahogany color, with about a finger thick tan head. Nose is of light coconut dominantly. Taste is very light, and very coconut dominant, very nice, light and refreshing.

~Sweet malty nutty aroma with big dose of toasty coconut. ~Pours a clear amberish brown with small brown head. ~Sweet nut malt flavor, honey, roast, and toasted coconut and chocolate. ~Light bodied with med CO2, smooth, light roast finish. ~Enjoyable brew. Body feels too light. Good blend of coconut and malt.

Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy, light brown, mostly diminishing. Body is medium to dark brown. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (caramel, toasted grain/nuts), lightly hoppy (grapefruit), with notes of coconut and paint. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter, slightly unclean. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. The coconut in the aroma is pleasant, to be sure, but there’s not too much else going on and there is a bit of paint character in there too. And honestly, the coconut and brown ale characters don’t really go together as well as I hoped they might. A bit dirty in the aftertaste, light and watery...just not that much fun to drink. Meh.

12 oz bottle. Clear brown with a small beige head. Aroma of biscuit dough and some oily coconut. Flavor is smooth and malty bread dough and a light coconut taste. Medium body with soft carbonation and a long finish. Nice brown, the coconut is a nice touch.

Aroma- Coconut as you would expect, but i also get some aroma that almost seems like it was barrel aged. Appearance- its brown, just like its supposed to be. Taste- I get almost a chocolately taste in the middle of the mouth, follow by a nice coconut at the end. The aftertaste is quite roasty and malty. Overall- This beer was an impulse buy for me. It was new and different so i had to have it. Completely surprised by it. Drinks amazing well. Nothing is out of balance or overpowering. Definitely one you can drink a few of a night.

Bottle. A light, clear cola-brown with a very thin, quickly disappearing white head. Aroma of coconut, caramel malts, chocolate, very sweet. Taste mildly sweet, roasty, of coconut, a little coffee, chocolate. Slightly dry roasted finish, maybe a little metallic. Soft-medium carbonation, fairly light-bodied. Pretty enjoyable.
