Light bodied Brown Ale. Kona hits the chocolate coconut flavor right on, with bitterness and roast to balance out the beer. Definitely a unique Brown Ale.

On tap with a lighter iced tea color. Thin head. Nice and mild on the taste buds from the start. Mild slaggy choco thing is going on. Easy and fresh is the impression. Not bad! Better than expected fer some reaon. Decent overall co2 presence. Some vanilla comes thru on the finish.

If you love toasted coconut then you MUST try this! Looked sexy golden brown poured from a bottle. Small white head with great lacing. The smell was delicious malty roasted toasty coconut. The taste was the same. This is a wonderful anytime beer if you like coconut. It has the deep malty flavor if a brown ale but is tropical and refreshing. Will definitely have this often.

Pours a clear brown-orange with a large dense off-white head. Aroma of coconut and caramel. Flavor of coconut, nuts, chocolate, and light bitterness at finish. I hate coconut but this isn’t bad.

UPDATED: MAR 26, 2012 Toasted coconut leads the aroma and taste. Pours a darker amber brown with a subtle tan head with light lacing. Good toasted malt and caramel. Definitely a surprise.

Bottle from Canal’s in Lawrenceville, NJ. Light chestnut pour with a medium dark tan head and very little lacing. Faint aroma of toasted malt, caramel and coconut, The coconut flavor hits you right away - and doesn’t let up. I found it overbearing. Toasted malt, biscuits, a little toffee and milk chocolate in there as well but badly overshadowed by the coconut. Mouthfeel on the thin side and a quick, modestly dry finish. I’m a big fan of Kona’s Pipeline Porter. The toasted coconut in that brew is well balanced and complimentary. Quite the opposite in that brew’s lighter cousin.

12 oz. bottle. Pours dark copper with a medium, beige head. The aroma is toffee, caramel, milk chocolate, and toasted coconut. The flavor is very sweet, with a slightly unpleasant bitterness toward the end. The palate is medium, sticky and astringent. Overall, this is a very interesting and delicious beer.

The coconut flavour comes through very strongly, and it’s surprisingly pleasing. It makes the overall taste quite sweet.

Bottle. Faint aroma of bread and roasted nuts. Poured a clear medium brown color with a dmal white head that vanished quickly. Very complex taste of nuts, caramel, coconut, with slight vanila. Very active carbonation on the palate. One of the best browns I’ve ever had. Highly recommended. Cheers
