Is there anything more iconic of the lush tropics than the coconut? The delicious heart of this island treasure has a nutty, toffee flavor and aroma that sends you straight to the beaches of Paradise. Kick back with a Koko Brown, brewed with real toasted coconut, and savor the mahogany color and smooth, roasty malt taste. Available Winter/Spring Koko Brown pairs well with coconut and caramel flavors, such as Thai curries, BBQ meats and carne asada. Its refreshing nutty aroma makes for the perfect beer after a day on the water.

Bottled December 22, 2015 and enjoyed in a stemless win glass February 19, 2016. Look - Reddish light brown. Thin medium bubbled white head. Blotchy lacing. Smelll - Traditional ale. Vanilla. Coconut. Malt. Chocolate. Taste - First sip was very old fashioned ale. Continued sips were vanilla, chocolate, nut, spice, and chocolate. Donít forget coconut. Feel - Watery. Not overly carbonated. Overall - Good flavor for what it is. I could even go as far as saying complex. Coconut and chocolate.

Poured on tap. Sweet coconut and chestnut nose and flavor. Rich slightly opaque nut brown color but breaking copper on the edges with a medium tan to white head that sticks healthy on the glass. Roast notes with subtle coffee. Coconut has a noticable role but not dominant. Very enjoyable balance and could drink many. Of the other coconut beers, this is one of the best I have had so far. Delicious.

A Brown Ale with coconut? Kudos for the idea, Kona. Know what? It actually works. Koko has medium body with lots of buttery chocolate and some nuttiness. The coconut pairs beautifully and adds a creaminess to the toasted malt layers. The coconut doesnít reach the rich levels Iíve experienced in a few coconut Porters, but the flavors are still quite candy-like. The suggested food pairing for Thai curry is a damn good one. I might just have to try that sometime soon.

Pours a clear rich brown from a bottle. Aroma of coconut flavored coffee. I get a lot more coffee notes in the flavor profile as well, but again some coconut wheezes along behind, crossing the finish line behind everything else. Meh.

Pours brown with a small white head. Slight coconut in the aroma but mostly nutty and roasted malt. Flavors have a little more coconut but the malt characteristics are the showcase here; nuts, chocolate and caramel sweetness. The body was a bit watery. Overall it didnít have as much coconut as I was expecting but a pretty good beer nonetheless.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown color with white head. Coconut, malty, toffee, molasses aromas. Coconut, roasty, malty, cocoa, brown sugar flavors. Overly sweet and coconuty.

Brown color with a foamy head. Coconut is dominant in the aroma and taste, but not so irritating. Hint of roasted malt. Interesting.
