3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a dark brown almost amber with a pillow head. Aromas of coconut (my fisrt brew with actual coconut as the focus) with some nuttiness and slight toast. Flavors of very light coconut, faint caramel, slight toffee and a light grassyness for balance. Mostly a light brew with faint flavors. Still enjoy this mostly because of the newness of a coconut flavor and because i greatly enjoy coconut.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a clearish dark brown with light beige head. Smell is chocolate a bit of vanilla and light coconut which isnít very strong but is noticeable. Taste is lightly bitter chocolate malt, nuttiness, and toasty coconut which comes through more in the flavor than aroma. Really enjoyable and a great brown ale. Thin to medium body and with light to medium carbonation. Iíd get a bottle or two of this again for sure when itís in season and Iím in the mood for a brown ale.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Yamaya. Light coconut nose, with nuts, skin moisturizer, and thick brown bread. Dark translucent brown, light tan head. Coconut is the main note in the initial / light roast malt, some chocolate, and very mild bittering / finishes with more chocolate and a touch of vanilla. Thin-medium bosy. A very pleasant brown ale

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottled December 5th. Poured into a shaker pint. I enjoyed Big Wave a decent bit and thought Iíd try another beer from Kona. $2 single.
Appearance: A completely filtered mahogany/ruby-black kind of color. Not much head on it, but a nice wall of lacing through most of the drink. Unfortunately, this is the best part about this brew.
Smell: Well, it smells like a coconut brown, but something about it seems slightly off? Artificial almost? It smells waxy or something along those lines. Iíve noticed some people say it smells nutty, and maybe it does, but itís still distinctively coconut at the same time. Pretty nice. Not bad. Intriguing. Just something a bit "off" about it.
Taste/feel: First thing I notice is the feel... super watery with a fairly mild carbonation. Very, very thin. The flavor is like the aroma with quite a lot of coconut. People say itís more in the background, but I pick up plenty of it. Slight roast from the malt, but it doesnít give off a particular sort of flavor. No coffee or chocolate, it just tastes like a roasted malt -- faintly. Not bitter nor sweet. Easy drinking to be sure.
Overall, Koko Brown is an average-at-best brown ale. If you like coconut, this would be a nice choice... especially on a very hot day, as it isnít at all heavy, and it would be easy to have a few. Iím not sure Iíd buy it again, but I certainly wouldnít say no to a bottle or a pint. 3.5/5 overall just because I could see this being a solid choice on a hot summer day.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours reddish brown with a large foamy cream-colored head. A nice looking brew. Aroma is grass, nuts and sweet toasted malts. Taste hits you upfront with a sweet candied coconut and then more bitter roasted toffee malts. Slightly bitter aftertaste with echoes of coconut oil. Highly drinkable. I enjoyed this.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz. bottle packaged on 1/30/14 poured into shaker. Clear deep caramel color with almost no head whatsoever. Aroma is caramel, toffee, and nuttiness with just the right amount of coconut. Flavor is nice and malty with good coconut presence and some slight bitterness in the finish. A good example of the style and quite enjoyable overall.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a mahogany color with a decent head and some lacing. Arpma of roasted malt, caramel and nice bit of coconut. Taste of roasted malt, coconut and carmel. Mild bitterness with a clean finish. Medium body, smooth with a nice creamy feel. Nice beer for the style with a tropical touch with the coconut.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle dated 12/17/12. Once again, trying to get the stuff moving from my cellar before it gets stale. Pours more of a brown ale color than a porter, with a thick head of foam. Smell offers some lightly toasted malt, but thereís just not that much of it. Taste is okay, starts with a hint of blond roast coffee, then there is some coconut water, or rather something that tastes the way coconut oil smells. The coconut even gives it a bit of a perfumey aspect. This may indeed have aged past its intended flavor, I notice a thin layer of dregs in the bottom of the glass could be part of the coconut settling out. Never quite cared for coconut, but this goes okay.
