COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Is there anything more iconic of the lush tropics than the coconut? The delicious heart of this island treasure has a nutty, toffee flavor and aroma that sends you straight to the beaches of Paradise. Kick back with a Koko Brown, brewed with real toasted coconut, and savor the mahogany color and smooth, roasty malt taste. Available Winter/Spring Koko Brown pairs well with coconut and caramel flavors, such as Thai curries, BBQ meats and carne asada. Its refreshing nutty aroma makes for the perfect beer after a day on the water.

Draught at Kona Brewing Company - KoKo Marina Pub
Dark mahogany color with generous creamy head. Mild aroma of coconut milk and beauty products. Nice flavor of dark caramel and mildly roasted malts, with delicate coconut touch; the mouthfeel is dry but somehow smooth; correct bitterness level, some from the roastiness too.
Not bad.

Tap @ The Pony Bar, NYC. Nice head with good duration. Color is brown. Aroma and taste are coconut, caramel, more coconut, bounty bar, and again more coconut. Did I mention coconut? Malt and hops as well. Sweet and coconut is quite dominant.

Bottle, at Kristiansand Ølfestival. It’s a clear brown beer, topped by a small off-white head. There’s nuts, bread, caramel, some coconut and dark chocolate in the aroma. Some coffee kicks in in the flavor, along with a hoppy bitterness, else it’s the same bread, caramel and coconut known from the aroma. Medium body, soft and dry on the palate. Bread, caramel, some coconut and chocolate in the finish. A pleasant one, but a tad boring. 140823

UPDATED: OCT 4, 2014 Light brown, nutty character and a hit of toasted coconut, has a lot of sweetness. The coconut sweetness is pretty strong but there is some nutty balance.

Bottle from Beverages 4 Less in Santee, CA. Pours ruddy dark brown with a fizzy/creamy beige head. I think I can smell coconut. Med + body. Flavor is coconut with some chocolaty roast malt. Perhaps a touch of vanilla. Very different.

Brown in color with a finger of off-white head. The coconut certainly comes through on the aroma. Nice and nutty as well. There’s also a hint of vanilla to it. Quite sweet with plenty of toffee and caramel, too. Lots and lots of coconut flavor with the toast, nuts, and sweet malt taking a bit of a back seat on this one. Nice balance of sweetness and toast/roast malt flavors to prevent it from being cloying.
