COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Is there anything more iconic of the lush tropics than the coconut? The delicious heart of this island treasure has a nutty, toffee flavor and aroma that sends you straight to the beaches of Paradise. Kick back with a Koko Brown, brewed with real toasted coconut, and savor the mahogany color and smooth, roasty malt taste. Available Winter/Spring Koko Brown pairs well with coconut and caramel flavors, such as Thai curries, BBQ meats and carne asada. Its refreshing nutty aroma makes for the perfect beer after a day on the water.

Poured clear brown with a fizzy tan head. Aroma of nut, caramel, and chocolate. Very nutty chewy texture. Some chocolate. Best of their offerings.

Bottle at elbernays wedding. Nuts, toasted malt, coffee notes in the flavour. Big body, quite fizzy. Nuts in the finish. Nice.

February 23rd, 2013 - I always wanted Kona Brewing to be more distinctly Hawaiian. Their core beers are getting pretty wide distribution, but I never found them to be of much interest. The coconut porter is a notable and delicious exception, and walking into this review, I was hoping the Koko Brown would follow suit. And by the aroma, it could. A brown is a brown is a brown, and this brown is very brown in the way browns are, on the head and in the body. But the smell is very different, giving off airs of sweet and roasted nuts, madam, shea butter and almonds. This is a smell I could find here and there on Waikiki, in restaurant bars and slightly more upscale diners. The flavor is similar, but a little too perfumed, featuring TOO much of the flower and shea flavors, and tasting much too much like the inside of a Yankee candle jar. Still, that aroma is a treat, and a distinct scent of the islands.

"medium brown pour with khaki head. aroma of lightly toasted malts, coconut, vanilla, and a touch of hops. light bodied, which fits this beer. the flavor wins me over...toasted coconut, roasted chocolate malt and a hint of vanilla. this is excellent. should’ve got more! like a maui coconut porter light. i like the idea of beers with the local themes and ingredients, and this is a definite winner. may be a summer staple in my hou

Clear coffee brown. Nose has ripe coconut and/or a coconut liqueur with toffee. Nuts and coconut with a lingering hoppy after taste.

Pours from 12oz. bottle a clear, deeper brown colored body with a finger-width, creamy, beige head that dissipates slowly and leaves a nice, creamy lacing throughout. Aroma is of toasted nuts, caramel, a light coconut sweetness, a hint of cocoa, a touch of roast, and some light earth. Flavour had some light-medium malt sweetness, light chocolate, black walnut like bitterness with a hint of the coconut. Decent from a style that I’m not a fan of.

Drank on 4/11/2014. Picked up for $ 1.47 per 12oz bottle. Brewed with toasted coconuts. It’s a mahogany color. There’s hints of coconut flavors throughout the duration then has a slightly bitter finish. It got better the more I drank.

Bottle, at Kristiansand Ølfestival. It’s a clear brown beer, topped by a small off-white head. There’s nuts, bread, caramel, some coconut and dark chocolate in the aroma. Some coffee kicks in in the flavor, along with a hoppy bitterness, else it’s the same bread, caramel and coconut known from the aroma. Medium body, soft and dry on the palate. Bread, caramel, some coconut and chocolate in the finish. A pleasant one, but a tad boring. 140823

Pours clear brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, coconut and caramel. Taste is light to medium sweet and light bitter with a long coconut and caramel finish. Body is light to medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.

Tap. Clear dark red brown pour with a big head that dissipated quickly. Coconuts, roasted almond, caramel, soda. A lot of coconut, but not overwhelming. Medium body with slightly oily and sweet finish. Although I am not a coconut fan, this is decent
