COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Is there anything more iconic of the lush tropics than the coconut? The delicious heart of this island treasure has a nutty, toffee flavor and aroma that sends you straight to the beaches of Paradise. Kick back with a Koko Brown, brewed with real toasted coconut, and savor the mahogany color and smooth, roasty malt taste. Available Winter/Spring Koko Brown pairs well with coconut and caramel flavors, such as Thai curries, BBQ meats and carne asada. Its refreshing nutty aroma makes for the perfect beer after a day on the water.

Bottle @ home. I bought this on a whim. It sounded interesting. The beer looks like a brown should. The aroma was wonderful, like chocolate milk and coconut. Toasted coconut is front and center in the flavor. There’s also a nice hazelnutty, chocolate, caramel malty, and light toffee flavor. A touch watery but overall a great beer. I have now been pleasantly surprised by Kona twice now. Good job, Kona.

Draft pout clear amber. Nose faint malt, not much else. Taste coconut, sweet, malt. Minimal bitter on the finish, but definitely more coconut.

Aroma: Roasted malts with hints of caramel and nuts. Appearance: Dark brown with minimal head. Taste: Light sweetness balance by a light sourness in the finish. Palate: Medium body, dry texture, average carbonation, odd finish. Overall: The coconut is clearly present, but I’m not sure it’s as balanced as I’d like. The finish is off putting, with a weird aftertaste. There’s potential here, and a cool concept, but this just isn’t coming together like I’d want it to.

Takie sobie piwo.

Poured from a bottle, San Diego. Tremendous aroma of malt and coconut, very sweet. Dark reddish-brown, minimal head. Very tasty, chocolate with a smooth coconut flavor that makes it a great dessert beer.

12 oz. bottle poured to a Czech-pils glass showing a clear, mahogany brown color, with a nice amount of dirty light tan, creamy head froth, and very appropriate, wavy spray to the lacing. The aroma was very pleasant to the nose, with notes of mildly toasted coconut, light sweetness, nuttiness, smooth malt, and a touch of vanilla. Medium bodied with good, complementary carbonation, the flavor advanced the aroma notes with a moderate hop bitterness that was rather lingering & earthy, a touch of toffee, and a crisp, somewhat dry finish. I’ve used toasted coconut in my own brewing, and am a big fan. Nicely incorporated into this quaffable brew.

I’m consistently impressed by this brewery. A very nice brown with sweetness seeming a little bit more milky than usual. Coconut is there, but I could only identify it because it was on the label. Tried at the KC Hopfest in 2013.

Pours crystal clear brown with little head. Really just a pale film. Nose is fresh coconut meat, stone fruit complexities, and some toasty malts. Flavor is full of fresh coconut and toffee and nutty malts and just a touch of vanilla. Medium light bitterness. Not a bad brown.

Fresh wood smell. Nice bourbon, or i guess now coconut flavor without being too strong, mostly wood. Light with some toasty sweetness. Thin body.

Bottle. Brown with small tan head. Aroma of toasted malts and coconut. Has a malty sweetness with caramel, vanilla, and an obvious toasted coconut flavour. Light/medium body and despite it’s sweetness is a refreshing beer. Excellent for summer.
