COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Lavaman Red Ale is a malty, red ale with strong caramel notes and a subtle chocolate malt flavor. The pronounced maltiness is balanced by the delicate blend of Pacific Northwest hops resulting in a smooth, full-bodied beer.

Caramel reddish in color... Devoid of aroma, my wife says it smells of beer but nothing in particular... Flavor is slightly spicy, caramel notes, with a nice spicy bitter finish... Okay at best ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a red copper colour. Sweet caramel and earth nose, flavor is more of the same. Almost too sweet, but overall enjoyable.

Perhaps Kona’s best beer. Not saying much, but lavaman is approachable and enjoyable whenever the mood strikes.

Beautiful amber (dark) color, with creamy head. The aroma is mild, some caramel and paper. The mouthfeel is quite smooth, it has caramel flavor, some yeast character, correct bitterness. Another beer that happens to be quite anonymous.

Clear amber color with lasting ivory head. Caramel, pale malt, chocolate aromas. Smooth medium body. Mild caramel, chocolate, pale malt, floral flavors-easy drinking--not bad.

Several mugs@BarAcuda, Hanalei, Kaua’i,27/08/12. Shining red, fizzy, cold with little head. Red jelly, berries, maybe cinder toffee aroma. Tunnel-like berries, chocolate orange, bit of barrel, generic nutty hints. Bit soapy. Alright.

Tap. Pours a reddish amber with good off-white head that leaves nice lacing on the glass. Not much in the aroma...mostly malty. Flavor has hints of cherry, sugar, and malts. Somewhat sweet, but not overly so. Well balanced.

A wonderful red tinted beer and also smooth to drink a fine red ale to enjoy on a summer day in Hawaii.

On tap at Castaway. Red with minimal head. Minimal aroma. Malt character greed with more sips. Fairly nondescript. Not great. Not bad. Easy to drink. This is probably a good intro to microbrews for the Bud/Miller crowd.

Aroma is slightly spicy and pepper. Flavor taste a little watery. Reminds me of a big brew in quality. Not so good
