COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Lavaman Red Ale is a malty, red ale with strong caramel notes and a subtle chocolate malt flavor. The pronounced maltiness is balanced by the delicate blend of Pacific Northwest hops resulting in a smooth, full-bodied beer.

On tap at some Mexican restaurant near Kona. Started badly, finished better. Strangely much better with Mexican food, which made it start tasting like a rich fruity pale ale.

Poured from tap to glass at the Kailua brewery. Crystal clear red hue with creamy off white head. Aroma is malty, rye?, pepper, cocoa, melon. Mouthfeel is nice with a medium light body and zesty carbonation. Taste is dry sweet initially with a spicy bitter following that extends into the finish. Overall this is a pretty nice red ale.

Everything is just so weak...save appearance. No surprise wirh Kona offerings. This definitely needs to accompany food.
