Bottle. Pours a bright golden yellow color, lots of bubbles, medium white head. Smells bright and spicy with citrus, lemon, and florals. Clean and crisp taste is sweet with a little herbal spiciness. Lemon and light citrus. Has a little bit of a spritzer/shandy feel to it. I liked this much more that I thought I would.

Tasty, definite smell and flavor of ginger, less so of lemongrass I thought, but still light and citrusy, refreshing and easy to drink. I’d drink this again.

Keg at the Bootlegger, 05/09/16. Light shade of yellow with a decent white cap. Nose is lemongrass, straw, grains, light spice Taste comprises perfume, lemon, straw, tossed grains, a noticeable ginger bite, herbal. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent for style, a nice palate cleanser but I couldn’t drink a lot of this one.

Completely clear golden coloured body with a very small, two centimetre tall pure white head. Aroma of lemongrass (surprise, surprise), light malt, hay, grass, funk, citrus and a bit of yeast. Light-bodied; Strong lemongrass and herb funk noticeable up front with some very light malt and wheat, a taste of the alcohol warmth and even some ginger noticeable with a pretty big kick at the end. Aftertaste is centred around the ginger and the lemongrass of course, with a definite kick and pungency throughout, but perhaps in a good way - strong in the spice/herb characteristic. Overall, a nice and refreshing beer - especially for the summer months and definitely while in Kailua-Kona. I sampled this stubby twelve ounce bottle purchased from Giant Food in Falls Church, Virginia on 16-June-2016 for US$1,99 sampled at home in Washington on 04-September-2016 after spending the summer visiting the Kona Brewpub in Kailua-Kona a few weeks earlier!

Bottle from World Beer Market (Sake no Taniguchi). Nose of ginger, some citrusy notes. Hazy medium gold straw. Ginger again, as the first flavor, then some light topical fruitiness, sugar, and more ginger in finish. Thin body. Ginger isn’t overdone, but it does dominate. Lemongrass is barely apparent.

can @ Florence Freedom game --- Clear light amber color, white head that drops to the rim, bands of lace. Taste is malt and wheat that move through medium fizz and light spice to a "no discernible hop" finish. Fair, but nothing more.

Pours clear pale yellow with flat white head. Aroma of lemongrass and lime. Taste is mild sweet with a lime finish. Light and smooth body with soft carbonation.

Poured from a cool-looking sloped bottle into a pils glass. Clear golden colour, white foam which quickly dissipated, no lace. Light body, slight wheat malt mouthfeel, but thin and watery. Barely any lemongrass flavour, over-the-top ginger flavour which masked anything and everything else. Just another ginger-bomb, guh! The bottle says Millenium, Willamette, Northern Brewer and Sterling hops, but I couldn’t discern any of those. Metallic, mass-produced. Super fresh but still oxidized. Just not good.

Bottle from Kroger. Clear pale golden with a white head that’s quickly gone. Pleasant aroma of lemongrass, ginger and bread. Tastes gingery and lightly bitter but ultimately not much going on. Light-medium bodied and crisp.
