2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
My sister brought a couple bottles of this home with her from Hawaii, I can't help but wish she'd have brought a nice stout instead. Nice copper color with no head whatsoever. There seems to be something strange permeating the aroma and flavor, although I don't think it's skunked at all. A touch soapy, bitter, but predominantly just a wierd taste that is difficult both to describe and ignore. Actually a bit more flavorful than most "thirst quenching" lagers, but still nothing to write home about.

Nice malty nose over a gold color. It had a certain dry-ness to it. Kinda weak and not overly impressive.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Light golden color with a hint of lacing. Faint citrus aroma. Modest character, does have a somwhat creamy texture. Not bad, a little better than expected.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Light golden yellow color with a thin laced white head. A bready and citrus aroma that was quite refreshing for the style. Crisp and clean with some citrus notes in the flavor. Far exceeded expectations.

A little bitter taste but overall it is really good. I like a more wheat taste but this beer was a good Hawaiian beer.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A mildly weak lager with a terrible finish. No balance and a strong aftertaste. The lager finish has a bitter tart aftertaste with a strong palate. A very poor lager.

ON TAP--I enjoyed this brewery's Fire Rock Pale Ale so much that I decided to try a few of their other offerings, including the Longboard Lager. While it doesn't have as much intensity as Fire Rock, it's still a mighty good beer. Very smooth with a nice (and surprising) hoppy kick. I can't imagine anyone not liking this beer. Nothing offensive in the slightest; just plenty of well-balanced taste.

Well, it's a decent lager. About as good as you can expect from Hawaii. Definitely better than Kaua'i Sunset Lager.

Good, clear, dark golden lager, not much head, does not last, but a nice continuing stream of bubbles. Not much present in the nose but hops ... do I actually smell hops in an American lager? Taste of sweet malt, floral hops, bitter finish, touch of grapefruit? Overall, surprisingly good for an American lager.
