If someone who already likes beer were in the process of transitioning to craft beers, Iíd tell them to reach for Longboard Island Lager. With its mild hop note, bread-like flavors and smells, and light body, Longboard shares many commonalities with the beers made by larger corporations. Yet, this lager has a smoothness and flavor you donít get from big name American Pale Lagers. While Longboard doesnít reinvent the style, it may help persuade beer drinkers to venture into the wide world of craft. Itís also pretty good in its own right.

Pours a clear yellow color with a thin white head. A little spicy flavor with some malt. Not too bad.

2.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle to pilsner glass. Appearance is light yellow, Budweiser-esque.
Good lager, but overly simple and lacking some depth.
Palate is smooth. Very crisp. Medium carbonation.

First tasted at Waikiki in 2013. Smooth, refreshing, and delicious. I like a powerful IPA normally. But this lager took me by surprise. Great finish........................

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a light straw color. Pretty well carbonated. Nice head at the pour. Doesnít really last, but the lacing it leaves does last.
Aroma is hoppy. Thereís some fruitiness in there. Not sure what it is, but itís great.
Tastes great. Thereís a decent amount of hoppiness. Hops is the primary taste characteristic. But this, itís good.
Mouthfeel is much like a lager. Itís clean, itís crisp. This one, is slightly bitter from the front to the last. The hoppiness might lead you to believe it has a higher ABV than it actually does. Bitter and dry, yes! Clean and refreshing, yes!
Overall, this is a very good beer. I like it a lot. Light, and fresh. I would certainly give this a go!

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
35 cl bottle. Light yellow color, almost clear, average white head, lagery nose. Aroma of lager malts and floral tones, a leftover of yeast. Light body, soft carbonation, ok dry finish. Good lager.

3.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Aroma is sweet cereal malts and a light, I donít know, maybe passion fruit. Taste is mostly water, light passion fruit, and cereal malt and some floral hops in the finish.

2.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Clear gold pour. Two finger white head that leaves a little lacing. Nose is toasty, bready malt, citrus peel, and spicy hops. Light and crisp mouthfeel. Taste is malty, but not as robust as the nose indicated. Mostly just fizzy and malty. Mineral notes and faint spicy hop in the finish. Disappointing, but not awful.

Non Ť certo una birra memorabile, ma comunque cosž si puÚ berla tranquillamente, forse un pÚ troppo dolciastra...
