Longboard Island Lager is a smooth refreshing lager fermented and aged for weeks at cold temperatures to yield its exceptionally smooth flavor. A delicate, slightly spicy hop aroma complements the malty body of this beer.

UPDATED: JAN 22, 2013 Draft. Very light gold pour with a fizzy white head. Very weak lager. The flavor is fine - there is just so little of it.

Leighton (10767) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 18, 2014
Bottle shared during the RBESG 2014 London Grand Tasting - Moncada Brewery. Pours clear yellow-gold with a white cream topping. Pretty standard (if slightly dated) pale lagery stuff, with notes of cereal, faint paper and light bittering hay. Light in body with average carbonation. Finishes with light pale cereal sugars, some straw. So so but condition might not be tops.

Pale yellow, not much head. Grass, butter, citrus. Medium sweetness, light bitterness. Slightly better than bulk lagers, but only slightly...

Bottle from K-supermarket at Kamppi, Helsinki (€ 3,99) in August 2014. Pours a slightly hazy, very pale golden with a big white top that drops fast, then nearly disappears. Nose is malt-driven and slightly caramelly, but some nice spicy - reminiscent of ginger - and floral aspects are also detectable. Taste is again malt-driven, it’s caramelly sweet, but also juicy and fruity with a dry, malty finish. A mediumish body; sticky texture. Lively carbonation (bubbles still rising after it’s been sitting on the desk for 15 minutes). I imagine I’d enjoy this tremendously straight from the bottle after a hot day spent in the ocean (preferrably in Hawaii), together with a good junky dish. I think this one really calls for a pizza with pineapples! - But as I’m sitting here in the comfort of my sofa, sipping it from a glass... naaah, it’s merely okay for a weirder take on a lager.

Clear golden pour, white medium lasting head. Aroma isn’t present with only some grainy character and some faint hops coming at nose. Taste is grainy too with some fruity hops. Not balanced. Not coherent to style. Not good.
