COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Longboard Island Lager is a smooth refreshing lager fermented and aged for weeks at cold temperatures to yield its exceptionally smooth flavor. A delicate, slightly spicy hop aroma complements the malty body of this beer.

Not sure why the reviews are so meh. Middle of the road and its true on many counts but its exactly what it should be a light refreshing lager with a clean taste start to finish. Malty lager without any cloying bitterness. It has some spice but not overtly hoppy. I find it more approachable than most lagers. Along the lines of a Moosehead or maybe a Wheat Lager. I’d return to it but not often..

Golden colour with a white head. Aroma of malt and corn syrup. Sweetish taste, but quite full. Some floral hops, but very little bitterness. A decent, but rather bland, lager.

I wasn't expecting much and I was right. No aroma, palate or appearance to speak of. I hope this isn't costly; the one I drank was given to me. Nothing special. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz bottle from BevMo. Pours a clear pale golden yellow with a thin white head of foam that leaves no trace. Nose of yeast and mild malt. Taste of biscuit and malt up front with some grassiness and a faint a floral tone. Little bitterness. Light in body, crisp on the tongue, with a watery finish. Beers like this don’t get any respect, but this is a good example of a pale lager, balanced and subtle.

12 oz bottle, poured into a shaker pint at approximately 40 degrees F. A: Pours a crystal clear pale golden yellow, absolutely loaded with tiny bubbles of carbonation everywhere. Forms a short-lived thin white head of foam that leaves no trace at all behind, not even a ring. S: Doughy biscuit malt opens the scent, which is soon joined by hints of soon-to-be-ripe wheat field and a very faint floral tone. T: Again with the soft dough biscuit, right up front, tasting much like the inside portion of a freshly-baked torn-apart biscuit. There’s some grassiness that comes in, like a timothy hay, and some subtle notes of apple and pear, perhaps even some white grape. Underlying all the rest, a floral tone so faint I can scarcely pick it out drifts by, intensifying briefly at the finish. M: Light in body, crisp on the tongue, with a watery finish. O: A good example of a pale lager, balanced and subtle.
