Longboard Island Lager is a smooth refreshing lager fermented and aged for weeks at cold temperatures to yield its exceptionally smooth flavor. A delicate, slightly spicy hop aroma complements the malty body of this beer.

Not sure why the reviews are so meh. Middle of the road and its true on many counts but its exactly what it should be a light refreshing lager with a clean taste start to finish. Malty lager without any cloying bitterness. It has some spice but not overtly hoppy. I find it more approachable than most lagers. Along the lines of a Moosehead or maybe a Wheat Lager. I’d return to it but not often..

Quite light yellow, clear color with a sparse white head. Light body; moderate sweetness (!), short light to moderate finish. Admittedly I am definitely not a lager fan, but this seems quite nondescript.

For the style it isn't bad. Crisp and clean easy to chug lager. Golden pour from draft at gulf island grill in Orange beach.

Can from JSG Wine Merchants, Hills Road, Cambridge. Light yellow, a thin uneven white head. Delicate carbonation. The aroma is actually quite nice for a lager: floral, lemon, a hint of toffee. Taste is acceptable but not particularly exciting: a cereal-laden bittersweet with a very short finish. Very weak body, but the carbonation is good. Enjoyable but not overly so.

Appearance is clear and light golden, not much head. Aroma- vague hops, malty, not much going on. Taste of cereal malt, a bit creamy, slight spice. Ok lager.

If this is nearby and you're debating a brand name every-store light beer (miller lite, bud lite, coors etc.) this is a much better alternative. If you're looking for craft complexity this isn't quite there. It falls in a safe place of high drinkability. Hints of fruit hit well to start the palate. Summer or day drinking with ease with this. Bottle in Hawaii. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

the aroma is malty with some hints of grasses, grains and flowers... the taste is light and refreshening, malty with notes of citrus, candy and flowers... smooth hopping... dry and bitter finish...

Less masculine than the classic german lagers, its aroma has some delicate citric and grassy and floral notes that remind me the american hops. Really well balanced. It’s so easy to drink and very good. An hawaiian pleasant and fine reinterpretation of the oldest of the styles.

355ml dark bottle, filtered. £2.29 from Beers & Bottles, Southampton. Pale coloured. Dry, dull malt base. Some modestly zesty hops add some exotic citric notes, but fail to really lift it. Drinkable and inoffensive and just a tad above the ordinary pale lager.
