Longboard Island Lager is a smooth refreshing lager fermented and aged for weeks at cold temperatures to yield its exceptionally smooth flavor. A delicate, slightly spicy hop aroma complements the malty body of this beer.

12 oz bottle: Aroma is grain, bread and a little bit spunky. Appearance is a golden pour with a thick white head that dissipates slowly. Taste is clean crisp, very light hops and malts poking through on the back end. Palate is medium to low carbonation with a slight lingering bready after taste. Overall, it’s a run of the mill pale lager. Cheers!

Pale gold in color, with a minimal white head. Smells grassy and slightly sweet. Very smooth with a crisp and buttery flavor. Wouldn’t mind picking this up again.

If someone who already likes beer were in the process of transitioning to craft beers, I’d tell them to reach for Longboard Island Lager. With its mild hop note, bread-like flavors and smells, and light body, Longboard shares many commonalities with the beers made by larger corporations. Yet, this lager has a smoothness and flavor you don’t get from big name American Pale Lagers. While Longboard doesn’t reinvent the style, it may help persuade beer drinkers to venture into the wide world of craft. It’s also pretty good in its own right.

Bottle to pilsner glass. Appearance is light yellow, Budweiser-esque. Good lager, but overly simple and lacking some depth. Palate is smooth. Very crisp. Medium carbonation.
