Longboard Island Lager is a smooth refreshing lager fermented and aged for weeks at cold temperatures to yield its exceptionally smooth flavor. A delicate, slightly spicy hop aroma complements the malty body of this beer.

Freshly mashed grain aromas, strawberry candy. Clear gold with a fairly lasting white head. Fruity, grainy, a little butter, some grassy hops. Light bodied.

The bottle is a small work of art. Nice little chubby bottle with Hawaiian islands struck in the bottle together with the brewery’s greeting: Liquid Aloha. The color is pale golden and the beer do not have much foaming. The aroma is very limited with some malt. Taste wise it is also a bit thin. Weak taste of caramel which finishes with a small discreet hoppy bitterness, despite everything keeps a fairly long finish. Towards the end, the little spicy, and it is not entirely in line with a lager. However, it is ok and easy to drink.

Restrained aroma in a yellow pour. Pretty bland and lacking any bite. Only slightly better than the mass produced versions of the style. Pretty disappointing given the environment it is produced in.

Excellent hot summer day beer. It’s 91 degrees and humid on a Friday after work. One of the better ones out there and head and shoulders above the macro lagers.

Bottle. 4.6%. Best before 31.05.16. Pours a slightly hazy, very pale yellow, with a diminishing white head. Weak aroma; slightly tart, citrusy. Light cereal note as it warms. Same flavour, also weak, though not as weak as the aroma. Somewhat hoppy finish. Lingering grassy note. A wee bit too much carbonation. Overall not really bad, just... boring. 13.08.15.

Very light straw yellow beer in the glass, clear and filtered, some chill haze though. One of the palest beers I’ve ever seen. Not much flavour to pick up, but it certainly is a lager / pilsner style beer in my nose. Sadly, it’s not much flavours to pick up either, but it has some citrusy dry / tart, well carbonated mouthfeel, and a light, watery slim body. Very sessionable, light refreshment on the beach (label just begged for that comment...) Easy consumed, fast forgotten. Sorry, Kona.

Corn and grainy aroma. Very pale, clear, and a small film head. Slightly dry malt flavor, more grain and corn in the flavor.

355ml bottle from Prisma, Jumbo. Poured straw color with a thin white head. Sparkling, light bodied with some hay, apple and malt. Refreshing but quite bland, not much flavorwise. Thirst quenchener.
