Pacifier is an IPA. We chose to tone down the malt on this IPA to accentuate the citrus and tropical fruit notes from this blend of hops which have been described as citrus, lime, grapefruit, gooseberry, passion fruit, lychee, as well as numerous other tropical fruits. Pacifier IPA is dry hopped with Citra to bring the hop aroma to the forefront of this beer.

Tap @ Kona in Kona. Clear, orange-gold pour with a short white head which quickly fades to a persistent rim and leaves little lace. Nose is thick with tropical fruits: mango, orange blossoms, lilikoi and some ganja, but not without some medium toastiness. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Oranges, pine, toast, mango, ganja and a touch of grapefruit. Finish is medium and dry with lingering citrus and weed bitterness. Very nice and a pleasant surprise: I haven’t had any IPA from a local brewery that’s this well-balanced and tasty (to my tastes, anyway) and it far outdistances Kona’s own Castaway. A Kona ale for left-coasters. As usual with any IPA, especially those hopped with Citra, fresh is mandatory.
