Thanks to iNBe. This was pretty smooth. Coffee and some roasted flavor but not overwhelmingly so. Good. Serving: Bottle

On tap. Served a dark brown color with a thick head that fades to ample lacing. Aroma of roasted malt coffee and chocolate. Taste of roasted malt, dark chocolate with coffee. Mild bitterness and a fairly clean finish with just a bit of lingering coffee. A pretty full body, thick and rich feel, nicely balanced. Nice beer that fits the oncoming winter season.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
poured into a shaker pint. Pours dark brown almost black. Aroma is malt and coffee. The coffee is more in the smell than in the taste. What the coffee has in the taste make this a nice balanced porter. This is one that I can definitely have a lot of.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle at Very Berry Cafe, Kyoto. Dark body with brown edges. Lovely roasted nose of malt and coffee. Lighter in the mouth than it looked, and was quite dry. Notes of dark chocolate and a dab of soy sauce just noticeable in amongst the coffee. Tasty, but wanted a bit more depth.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Roasty coffee, chocolate aroma. Coffee and roasted, caramel malt flavors. Sweeter in finish--but then a dry coffee aftertaste. Some coffee beer "jalapeno" aroma and flavor at first, but it became less noticeable.

From a Winter beer sampler. Nice porter. Dark and rich, definite coffee taste. Slightly sweet, but not cloying. No fancy stuff going on with hops. It could be richer and tastier, however.

Dark Brown with a tan head. Lots of coffee in the aroma. Flavor is dark roasted grain coffee and a bit of a vanilla note. Body is a bit thin and aftertaste reminds me of artificial flavors - like a flavored coffee.

On tap at DFW ours black. Thin to no head. Aroma is coffee and a little chocolate. Flavor is pretty bland but with some roasted barley. Body is thin. A bit disappointing.

Bottle from New Beer Distributors, NYC
Dark brown color, small brown head. Aroma of chocolate and coffee. Medium-bodied, soft palate. Soft chocolate flavor with cocoa notes and toasted maltyness. Nice easy tasting porter. Well-done.

Purchased as a single bottle. This was my first coffee-based beer. My reaction to this porter was "Beer meets Kahlua."
Black in appearance - small head - distinctive coffee aroma. A bitter, woodsy, coffee aftertaste. Although I am glad I tried it, and I enjoyed sipping this brew, I probably wonít purchase it again.
