Pipeline Porter is smooth and dark with a distinctive roasty aroma and earthy complexity from its diverse blends of premium malted barley. This celebration of malt unites with freshly roasted 100% Kona coffee grown at Cornwell Estate on Hawaii’s Big Island, lending a unique roasted aroma and flavor. A delicate blend of hops rounds out this palate-pleasing brew.

Bottle from Dicey Reilly’s, Ballyshannon [100414]
Pitch black, frothy bubbly tan head that dissipates
Aroma of roasted malts, roast coffee, bit of smoke, mainly mellow dark coffee.
Taste of mellow roast black coffee, some soft roasted malts, dark malts, fairly straightforward, nice coffee in this and not overly done.
Palate - Medium carb, bit over fizzy, light to medium body, bit oily. Soft sweet dark malt palate. Finish - some slight earthy roast malts come out here
Overall - Quite a decent coffee porter, if a bit unremarkable

Draft sample. Near black in colour with medium carbonation. Aromas are of milk chocolate, RedVines, and coffee. More chocolate and coffee in the mouth, along with black sesame, mild caramel, and red grape. Slightly watery on the palate. Ok, but I was expecting the coffee to show itself a bit more.

Coffee beans, brown sugar. Sweet coffee, roasted malt, clean finish. Well balanced coffee porter, Kona coffee definitely has some deep enjoyable flavors.

Black pour. Thin whitish head. Some malts but mostly bitter coffee. More complex as it warms. Bitterness fades on the palate. Decent.

Pours an opaque red-black with no head and a little bit of watery lacing. Smells faintly of coffee and a little roast malt. Taste is mainly coffee with a bit of burnt malt and hop. Palate is on the watery side. Like a watery, coffee version of the Sierra Nevada porter.

Dark pour with very little head. Coffee and a tiny bit of hops aroma. Bitter, slightly roasted flavor. Very bitter finish. A little too watery and one note.

12 oz bottle dated 6 months ago from Evergreen Discount. Black with a nice tan head and light lacing. Aroma of coffee, dark chocolate, roasted malts and light mint. Similar flavor, roasted and bittersweet with light vanilla. Medium body with soft carbonation and nice roasted coffee finish. Overall, nicely balanced, full of flavor and easy to drink. This held up pretty well.
