Bottle courtesy of daknole that’s been kicking around the cellar for far too long probably. Pours a dark cola black with a medium sized light tan head. Looks a bit watery as it pours. Roast, slightly astringent coffee, hint of smoke. On the thin side of medium, lightly sweet with a touch of coffee, but not a lot else. A bit empty. Finishes up with a dry bitterness.

Pours deep brown. Notes of malt and roasted coffee. The palate shows deeper coffee notes with the roasted malt driving through the entire palate. Nice deep finish.

Aroma of light coffee. Strong flavor of light coffee, roasted barley, and pennies.   Light mouthfeel and kind of weak for a porter.

Dark fruity malt aroma with a little coffe. Very dark brown color with a small tan head. Bitter beginning that fades slowly in the finish. Creamy thick palate.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Gilly’s, 10/23/09

Aroma: I actually expected the nose to have more coffee in it from talking to others, but I found it muddled. It has some roasted malts too, but not too powerful of a nose.
Appearance: It poured into the glass as a dark brown color with a creamy tan head.
Flavor: Taste, like the nose, was coffee and roasted malts with some light hops.
Palate: The body was a bit on the thin side, especially for the style.
Overall Impression: I thought this was an alright porter, but it didn’t live up to my expectations. I was expecting it to be quite good, but instead it was just a solid, though a touch thin, coffee flavored porter.

Serving: Draft. Appearance: Dark brown color with a foamy, tan head. Aroma:Lots of coffee and some roasted malt notes. Flavor: Coffee, nuttiness, roasted malt, and malt sweetness. Palate:Medium carbonation with a medium-light body and a medium, coffee finish. Overall: It actually turned out better than I was expecting. Not worth seeking out per se, but not a bad brew if you happen upon it.

12oz bottle. Pours black with a thin tan head. Nose is heavenly, freshly ground roast coffee. Wow! Taste was of top-quality roast coffee. Mouthfeel was thin and dry.

(bottle). Black color. Medium tan head which is mostly diminishing. Roasted coffee aroma and flavor. Avg duration. Smooth finish. Slick texture. Moderate carbonatoin. Fair lacing.
