Pipeline Porter is smooth and dark with a distinctive roasty aroma and earthy complexity from its diverse blends of premium malted barley. This celebration of malt unites with freshly roasted 100% Kona coffee grown at Cornwell Estate on Hawaiiís Big Island, lending a unique roasted aroma and flavor. A delicate blend of hops rounds out this palate-pleasing brew.

Pours black with a small off-white head. Sweet with aromas of caramel and coffee. Also dates and a hint of wood. Medium to full bodied. Thick mouthfeel. Nice label design.

UPDATED: JUN 4, 2008 Bottled and draft. A deep red beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet with primary notes of caramel, but also light notes of coffee. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of coffee, that also gives it a bitterness, combined with light notes of chocolate, for a long lasting and nice finish.

Bottle. A black beer with a small beige head. The aroma is of fruits, coffee and light chocolate, so is the taste. Medium body with a light sweet dry finish.

We drove up the west coase of the Big Island looking for a place to eat and came across the Kona Pub and Brewery. The food was good, and the beer.... This was one of the best Hawaiian brews I tried, better than the Guinness Draft (bottle) I had in Honolulu.

Dark and oily with a tan head. Bursts of coffee in the nose and in the flavour. Flavour is good but hte beer lacks the malt backbone to take this to the next level. A coffee lovers delight nonetheless.

Pours dark brown with a tan head that quickly disipates to virtually nothing. Light roasted coffee and alcohol in the nose. A touch of creaminess but overall weak and watery in texture. Dark chocolate and coffee flavors are most apparent. Solid but nothing too exciting about this one.

On tap at Peteís Lair Tavern in Milwaukie, Oregon. Pours an opaque dark brown brew with a thin light tan head that slowly dissolves and leaves behind a good lacing. Aroma of roasted light coffee, flowery hops and a touch of chocolate. Taste is full bodied, thick and creamy with little carbonation. Taste is more coffee than roasted malt compared to most other dark porters. Finish is smooth, light with a slight coffee aftertaste.

Pours no head till you tilt the glass, then it froths for a short bit. very dark. Silky mouthfeel, and the coffee isnít bitter at all. Been a long time since Iíve had Kona coffee so canít tell you whether it trully comes out in the flavor, or not. Aroma is typical of other brews Iíve had that use real coffee. Iíd probably drink it again, but I wouldnít necessarily go out of my way to find it.

Bottle courtesy of fordest. Pours a very dark brown, almost black, with ruby hues and an average size tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, light coffee, light chocolate and light hops. Flavour of roasted malt, coffee and not much else and a lightly roasty/bitter finish -- a little dull. Average bodied. This was O.K., thereís nothing great about it but itís easy to drink and decent enough.
