2.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Flavor is a little light. I was expecting a big robust beer and it tasted a little watered down and not as complex as I was hoping for. I was kind of dissapointed.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a dark, dark ruby wiht a small head. There is a light fruitiness to the aroma and a bit of ashy coffee. The flavor doesn’t seem to compare and comes across as a little thin.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from realale420.
Black and meidum body with no head. The taste was sweet with massive coffee notes at the end. maple/ brown sugar also. Smooth but alittle too sweet. Pretty good.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz bottle from either Hi-Times or Bev-Mo I forget which.
Pour is solidly black and the body holds a diminishing, thumb thick mocha head that is fairly creamy looking.
Aroma is primarily coffee, with lesser chocolate notes and then some reserved roasted notes. It smells as you’d expect. Nothing negative or exceptional.
Medium bodied fore with relatively subdued coffee notes, roasted malts, chocolate, mild burnt bitterness and a dry cocoa finish. Not thin really, but not in keeping with the thicker new approach of most US porters. Very solidly enjoyable, again without being exceptional, but without any real negatives either.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Not as heavy or as oily smooth feeling in the mouth as a porter, and with the dose of Kona coffee more flavorful than a British porter for sure. Not heavy enough to be a stout, and too one dimension and simple to be a stout, but the richness of the coffee moved it beyond a simple porter. Not sure what to call it. Nose was definitely coffee. Taste was coffee and some malts. Thin in the mouth for a porter, but average for an ale I guess.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Big thanks to Beerdrenched for sharing this Hawaiian porter - I’m sure this won’t be seen in Missouri otherwise. Pour black with a nice tan head. The aroma has lots of robust coffee that is quite clean and somewhat grainy. Medium body with quite a bit of carbonation. The taste comes off more simplistic and disappointing than expected. It starts off with watery coffee and finishes with the coffee and some sourness added. There just wasn’t much else unfortunately.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
bottle-thanks to Ernest for this somewhat rare Hawaii brew. pours cola brown (yes, it looks like a glass of coke) with a small off-white/beige head. java and light dark chocolate on the nose, but mostly dominated by a java-extract like note. Even though it smells somewhat extract-like, its fairly pleasant. flavors are where it falls appart-lots of artificial coffe flavors with some plastic-like malt profile. body is really fizzy with lots of astringent carbonation. i dont know why this is this well rated.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Aroma of toasted malt and coffee, possibly a hint of chocolate. Dark, nearly opaque, brown color with a vigorous tan head. Starts with smooth coffee, swishing shows medium mouthfeel. Some bitterness rises along with toast. If there’s chocolate, it’s pretty submerged in the malt and coffee. Really different porter.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Better fresh and crisp, this one has bits of smokey roast, and other dark roasty coffee flavors that hinge well with dark malt roast flavors. All is on the deep and dark without much body or lighter malt notes besides what I’d describe as faint honey or even honeydew. The finish is fairly crispy and sharp with a bit of roasty tannins. As I mentioned at ffirst, fresh is best. The crispness fails if it’s left around much and other off-flvaors can creep in. Good but fragile.
