3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draught @ Old Chicagos in Denver: Dark brown, black coffee like hues, thin light beige head, spotty lacing.   Big nose of coffee and semi-sweet cocoa.   Slight milk sugar as well.   Sweet spritzy coffee oriented malt base.   Soft bitternes, slightly dry.   A bit thin, but remains quite flavorful from start to finish.   Lingering coffee and cocoa notes.   Not half bad.

The coffe aroma is actually good. The taste has coffee too but not in such a way that I wouldn’t be able to make it through a whole can. A little sweet in the finish for me but solid.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours opaque orange-black with thin ivory head. The aroma is fresh coffee, with a hint of baker’s chocolate, some brown sugar, and earth. The flavor is much the same: fresh coffee, bitter chocolate, raisin, brown sugar. The finish and aftertaste are sweet. Pretty good beer, this. I particularly like the roast of coffee they used... it blends quite well with the roasty porter.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12oz bottle Pkgd on Jan 1207. Drank this on 3/12/07. Black with a small beige head. Aroma of big coffee, roasted malts, and a little earthy hops. Flavor is coffee and roasted malts--the coffee is slightly more retrained and roasted malts a little bit stronger, though the coffee is still dominant. Minimal bitter finish. Pretty good--loving the coffee beans.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
bottle split with Muenster. Pours dark brown with a fast fading head. The nose is very rich with identifiable coffee and hints of toffee, peat, and soy sauce. The flavor has distinct, defined coffee character the fully evolves all the way to the finish, working its way through phases of caramel, bread, and light chocolate. It seems that this is more English leaning, though the coffee adds extra roast and bite throughout. This is an excellent example of tasteful use of coffee in beer. Pipeline is deliciously roasty without being obnoxious. I could drink one of these any time and enjoy it.
