COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Pipeline Porter is smooth and dark with a distinctive roasty aroma and earthy complexity from its diverse blends of premium malted barley. This celebration of malt unites with freshly roasted 100% Kona coffee grown at Cornwell Estate on Hawaii’s Big Island, lending a unique roasted aroma and flavor. A delicate blend of hops rounds out this palate-pleasing brew.

Drank for snifter poured from 12 oz bottle. Coffee tastes great, but overpowers the subtle porter elements. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Had I read the label properly, I wouldn’t have gone for this porter, as I do not like too much coffee flavours in beer. Now, having said that, it was not as bad as the label says. Oily, with chocolates and plum on the aromas, same on the flavour, plus the coffee and some nice roasted malt bitterness. "Llimited release"...great ginmmick. So limited we can get it in the South Island of New Zealand!!!

A killer porter with a Kona Coffee kick! Great, thick head that is delicious to drink through. Stands up well over time. Complex taste that evolves as it rolls over the tongue. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Kona Pipeline Porter pours clear dark mahogany with a creamy tan head Superb coffee flavor and aroma. If you are not already convinced that Hawaiian coffee its about the best on the world, this beer may convince you. Fantastic coffee aroma and flavor with a perfect balance of sweet and bitter ...meaning less bitter than many (most?) coffee beers. O: one of the best coffee beers I have had, especially if you direct your attention to the coffee component.

Pitch black with a tanned, beige-looking head. Aroma is coffe, chocolate, almost ice cream (vanilla, maybe?) in a very interesting way, and dark, roasted malts. The taste is dominated by coffee and chocolate. A nice, interesting dry finish which indicates a fairly amount of hops in this. In general, you understand what they mean when they are promoting this as "with 100% Hawaiian Kona Coffee". The mouthfeel is medium, would have been even better if it was bigger. So far, the best I’ve had from Kona, definetily.
