My first Hawaiian beer. Have to say my rating might be lower than normal since I donít drink coffee. Pours a medium thin brown caramel head, yet the beer is dark black. The smell is intense coffee, so that turned me off. Tastes very much coffee, I can pick up a little dark chocate. I wish it was more chocolate then coffee I would have enjoy it more. One taste I was done. But Iím like that with any heavy coffee beer. If you like porters and you are a coffee drinker Iím sure you would like this beer. Myself one taste is enough for me. Just keeping it real.

Nice dark brown with a tan head. Aromas of rich malts with dark, bitter sweet chocolate and a hint of coffee. The flavor is of burnt coffee, bittersweet chocolate.

APPEARANCE- Super dark black, amazingly large head. On carbon draft in a guiness style glass, it had 3" of foamy head, with >1 1/2" protruding over the rim. Seriously impressive! NOSE- FLAVOR- smooth malty flavor, great roastiness as the sip finishes. Very nice porter. NOTES- I wonder how it tastes with salt in the air and lava at my toes.

on tap @ Ei8ht Ball / Bellevue KY --- Aroma of toasted malt and coffee. Clear mahogany brown with a tan head cover, stripes of lace. Taste is bitter toasted malt that adds coffee on the swallow, growing to a finish that hardly needs hops. Solid, particularly at 5.3%.
