Bottle. Smells like coffee and chocolate. Pours almost black, thick with amber hues. Tastes like coffee at first with a chocolate aftertaste. Will definitely get again.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of roasted malt and coffee. Medium body with a little bitterness from the roasted malt. The malt and coffee shines through on this one. Gets a lot better as it warms. Another fine porter example that is made in America.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
An interesting porter, standard for the style with an exceptionally strong coffee aroma and taste. Actually the Hawaiian coffee definitely comes through in every category: the appearance is similar to black coffee with only a little off-white head, aroma is fresh coffee bean, taste is dominated by roasted coffee with maybe some roasted malt notes. Iím not picking up on any chocolate malt, at least not in this round. Very smooth and medium bodied. Good overall, great if you like your coffee strong Iím sure.

This beer has everything you would want in a porter. Itís smooth, mouthfeel is not too heavy, but not too thin. The coffee undertones are just enough to satisfy.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle @ Cockney Pub beer tasting, 24th October 2013.
Sweet aroma with caramel and coffee.
Creamy small head. Black colour with red notes.
Sweet "creamy" and coffee in taste. Balanced bitterness.
Not a thick beer, a little to watery for a porter.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours nearly black with a creamy tan head. Roasty flavor imparted by the malts and the coffee. Very smooth and easy to drink for a coffee porter. Perfect when you can't decide which kind of brew you.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
From the 12 fl. oz. bottle stamped 13:47-3-NOV0513. I am trying it in December so I donít know whether the Nov date is an expiration date or not. Regardless of that I get a deep brown to near black pour and a modest beige heads that fades off straight away. The coffee and coffee grinds aroma is so full I thought I was waking up for my morning cup of Joe. Thin to medium body. Taste is also very coffee-like with a modest bitterness akin to overripe fruit. But there was something about it I liked.

Numerous bottles. Aroma is coffee with a little molasses-like sweetness. Flavor is the same as the aroma. Finish is slightly bitter. Body is fairly light and level of carbonation is high.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Sampled at an ESBLS tasting. It poured a dark almost black/brown color with an off-white head. The aroma was of coffee and malts and a bit smokey. The taste was mostly roasted malts and coffee with some chocolate hints in there as well. Very well done.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours very dark brown with a short lasting, more thin tan head. Aroma is fairly potent and has mostly coffee and roasted malts. I get some light chocolate impressions also. The taste might actually be the same as the nose. I find coffee standing out most, as this one advertises, with a very mild aftertaste that has hints of chocolate. Not much bitterness. Light bodied, a slick texture, and very little carbonation. This one is alright.
