Pours almost like cola. Dark brown with a medium fizzy beige head. Aroma is tangy slightly sweet coffee. Flavor has a nice coffee flavor. Dry-ish with a smoky note. Body is smooth, but kind of flat.

Dark brown but light does pass through. Small head, but it leaves a pleasant interweave of lace after each sip. Chalky coffee nose with a background spice similar to oregano. Very dry. The flavor is strong (read: harsh) on the black patent malt, meaning strong black coffee taste. There’s no sweetness or creaminess. The aftertaste is short lived. Good body that fits the style.

One of Kona’s best "seasonal" beers. Pours dark and with a brown head. If you like coffee you will love this beer. medium bitterness with a lighter aftertaste.

Small light brown head; the beer itself is very dark brown. Aromas of roasted coffee; hops are quite subdued. Medium to full body; slightly oily texture; average to lively carbonation. Finish is average to long with coffee bitterness and flavors. Moderate sweetness and acidity. Overall I really like the coffee flavors, though the beer per se is just a tad on the thin side.

The coffee forward taste is there. Dark roast forward. Not unique. Straight forward coffee. Bitter melts away quickly. Sour left. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz. bottle from notes. Pours dark brown in color with a medium sized beige head. The aroma and flavor have roasted malts and quite a bit of kona coffee and some mocha, hints of dark chocolate, the only negative is the body is thin and comes off a bit watery.

Backlog rating on 01-03-2013 (Bottle) The appearance of this beer is a medium sized tan head that is mostly lasting, red brown opaque body, and spotty amounts of lacing. The aroma is roasted malt and coffee. The flavor mimics the aroma. The mouthfeel is smooth and thin. This beer is light-medium bodied. Overall, this beer is thin bodied and does not have much character.
